2017 FUTSAL CHALLENGE PHOENIX BRAZAS SC WELCOME TO THE 2017 FUTSAL CHALLENGE! • Please check your team at the Phoenix Brazas check-in desk upon your arrival at the gym. Please make sure to check your team 20 minutes earlier than your first kick off time. • Only teams and spectators of the ongoing age group are allowed inside the gym court. If you are playing next game at Kiwanis Recreational center, please either wait outside or go upstairs where the games can be watched through a panoramic window. If you are playing at Greenfield school gym you can watch the game from the gym benches, please don’t circulate on the courts. • Spectators must be seated at the designated area. Please do not seat at the players’ area. Please keep traffic in and out of the gym to a minimum. Please keep young siblings away from running around in the facility. Please keep the facility and bathrooms clean. Please pick up after your garbage. • Please no food inside of the gym. • Players do not need a soccer ball, please do not bring a ball. Futsal balls will be provided • Uniform: Dark jersey and light color jersey (mandatory), shorts, shin guards (mandatory), socks, tennis shoes. Absolute no cleats. • Jersey colors are decided beforehand the kick off. Please change quickly. • Please be on time for your games. Please be prepared to move quick from game to game (it does not apply for all ages), check the game schedule bellow • There is no downtime for warm up inside the gym between games, please leave the courts as soon as your game is over

GENERAL RULES • 5 players at a time. 4 field players and 1 goalkeeper. • No off-sides • There are out of bounds. By the sidelines is a kick in; by the end line is a goal throw that can only be done by the goalkeeper’s hand (it is not a goal kick); and corner kicks which is a kick in by the attacking team by the intersection of the end line and sideline. • At restart situations, goals can only be directly scored by corner kicks, free kicks and penalty kicks. Goals cannot be directly scored by goal throws nor kick ins (sideline). • Other than the described situations above then goals can be scored from anywhere else at anytime. • At all dead balls the opponents must be 3 yards away from the ball. • Goalkeepers CAN use their hands for passes back from their own teammates. Goalkeepers CAN score with their feet only. Direct goal throws or any other hand throw that end up in the back of the net of the opposition do not count as a goal. The play will restart with a goal throw to the opposing team. • No slide tackles are allowed if an opponent is nearby the play. A player is only allowed to slide (i.e.to save a ball going out of bounds or into the goal) if no opponent is near the play. • Substitutions are on the fly. A substitution is done at half way line. A player can only come in when the teammate is totally out of the court. If there are 6 players on the field, the infraction team is penalized with a free kick against. Subs are unlimited. • Yellow cards can be applied as warning following all the regular soccer rules. • Green Cards can be applied as any player performs a great play, great defense, great save, great sportsmanship act, it will be judged by the referees. The player that accumulates more green cards during all matches per group will get award in the end of the competition, regarding win or lose. • Red cards equal a game suspension. Escalated misconducting of players, coaches, staff members, parents and others connected with the team are considered automatic ejection of the event. • A WIN = 3 POINTS. A TIE = 1 POINT. A LOSS = 0 POINTS. • Tie breaker: 1) Head to head; 2) Number of wins; 3) Goal differential; 4) Goals in favor; 5) Goals against 6) Coin Toss. Tie break at the finals goes to 3 PKs per team. Game time: Groups A and B: 15 min halves – Groups C, D, E, F: 20 min halves *Awards will be given for First and Second place teams, striker per age group, and MVP (most valuable player) with more Green cards (one player Age per group).
