2017 Hangtown Christmas Parade Parade Rules & Regulations

1. Check in: One person shall be designated from each entry to check in with Parade Marshals at check in “site” on Parade day. Each entry must go to the designated area to get in lineup order and stay together. Do not roam around staging areas as it causes confusion for everyone. Drivers must stay with vehicle at all times. 2. D  rop off: People dropping off participants in the Parade shall drive through designated areas and must park offsite if staying with minors until Parade commences. 3. All entrants must be decorated in the Christmas spirit. No Santa Clauses. No gang attire. 4. A  ll entries MUST clean up their staging areas, including all hay, discarded Christmas decorations and horse poop prior to commencement of Parade and at end-of-parade pick up areas. 5. Gaps in Parade are disheartening for spectators. Please be conscientious of the entry in front of you. Do not stop along Parade route to visit with friends and spectators. 6. Horse Trailers must be transferred to the Bank of America Parking Lot at the west end of Parade route prior to Parade commencement after drop off to avoid dangerous traffic and pedestrian situations after your appearance in the Parade. 7. In order to ensure the success of our parade, all entries must be delivered to one of the following locations: Mountain Democrat, 2889 Ray Lawyer Drive; Hangman's Tree Ice Cream Saloon, 305 Main Street; Placerville News Company, 409 Main Street; or Town Hall, 549 Main Street, Placerville by November 15, 2017. 8. No passengers are allowed on floats after end of Parade. Your passengers must disembark at the designated dismount area at end of the parade. 9. For child safety, CANDY MAY NOT BE THROWN from floats or vehicles. You may dispense candy afoot only. Violators may be pulled from parade. Each entry must have at least 2 people to monitor and keep children from tires - one on each side of vehicle/float. As a parade entrant, I agree to cover any injury or damage caused by negligence or an animal in my charge to people or property. I also hereby hold harmless the City of Placerville, the Parade sponsors and Parade volunteers of any liability for accident or injury to participants or spectators. I have read and understand the parade rules and regulations and agree to comply.

I also hereby hold harmless the City of Placerville, the Parade sponsors and Parade volunteers of any liability for accident or injury to participants or spectators. 2017 Hangtown Christmas Parade Entrant Waiver As a parade entrant, I and on behalf of my entry hereby waive and release, and agree to defend (with counsel acceptable to City of Placerville), indemnify and hold City of Placerville, its officials, officers, employees, volunteers, agents (City Indemnitees); and parade sponsor Tim Taylor and Hangman Tree Ice Cream Saloon, Inc. free and harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, causes of action, costs, expenses, liability, loss, damage or injury, in law or equity, to property or persons, including wrongful death, in any manner which actually or allegedly arise out of or in connection with my entry in the parade, including but not limited to any alleged acts, omissions, negligence or willful misconduct of City of Placerville, its officials, officers, employees, agents, subcontractors and parade sponsor Tim Taylor and Hangman Tree Ice Cream Saloon, Inc. arising out of or in connection with the parade and including any alleged acts, omissions, negligence, active negligence or sole negligence of the City Indemnitees, and parade sponsor Tim Taylor and Hangman Tree Ice Cream Saloon, Inc. excepting only fraud, willful misconduct or violation of law by the City Indemnitees and parade sponsor Tim Taylor and Hangman Tree Ice Cream Saloon, Inc.. This shall include any and all such aforesaid suits, actions or other legal proceedings of every kind that may be brought or instituted against any of the City Indemnitees and parade sponsor Tim Taylor and Hangman Tree Ice Cream Saloon, Inc.
