2017 HIGHLAND YOUTH FOOTBALL & CHEER Registration Information for Tackle Football, Flag Football, and Cheerleading Cheer News:
REGISTRATION DATES May 13th and May 20th Saturday – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Highland Hornets Highland Youth Football is a member of the Ohio Gridiron Youth Football Association. The OGYFA is based in Summit and Medina counties. The current member communities are: Highland, Copley, Stow, Cuyahoga Falls, Mogadore, Field, Akron and Revere. The goal of the HYF organization is to strive not only to teach football, but to create an atmosphere of teamwork and respect for our 5-12 year old members. Our football players and cheerleaders will have a great learning experience, enhance their skills, and have a lot of fun throughout the season. They are also asked to sign their commitment to uphold our program’s values.
TACKLE FOOTBALL DETAILS Freshman Division – 7 and 8 year olds a. b. c.
Minimum age 7 by July 1st Maximum age 8 by July 1st Maximum ball carrier 95 lbs
Sophomore Division – 9 year olds a. b.
Maximum age 9 by July 1st Maximum ball carrier 115 lbs
JV Division – 10 year olds a. b. a. b.

Minimum age 11 by July 1 Maximum age 12 by July 1st (Maximum weight 100 lbs for age 12, Most age 12 play 7th grade division) c. Maximum ball carrier 140 lbs 7th Grade Division – 7th Grade Only
NO TRYOUTS! 8th – 12th graders needed to coach youth cheer
Please have player present as we will be fitting helmets and Jersey sizes. You can also purchase integrated girdles and rib protectors. Location – Highland High School Fieldhouse BRING TO REGISTRATION (REQUIRED) 1) Small recent photo 2) Copy of birth certificate 3) Participant for sizing COST (Maximum $450/Family includes Raffle) Tackle - $150 Flag - $80 Cheerleading - $130 Mascots must be 6 years old by Dec 31st and in kindergarten, limited to 45 participants Competition Cheer- $130 Important Note: Each participant will be required to purchase an additional $50 in raffle tickets and he/she can sell to friends and family for some great prizes. These tickets will be purchased in addition to the above enrollment cost. Proceeds for this effort will be going to HYF.
