Ontario County Local Food Guide Your Resource to Farm Fresh Produce

Welcome, This local food guide is a representation of the diversity of the producers providing you a farm fresh direct to you experience. This guide is not a complete listing of Ontario County’s producers that sell locally, only those that wished to be listed. This guide does not include farm wineries, breweries, or cideries. Ontario County farms in this guide are listed by town alphabetically. Ontario County farmers markets, farm vendors in Ontario County, and Ontario County-made food products are also included alphabetically under their town location. For your convenience, a chart of farms by farm product is also included. We hope you will use this guide to enjoy Ontario County's bounty of roadside farm stands, weekly farmers’ markets, u-pick farms, CSA's (Community Supported Agriculture), produce, and livestock farms. Find products such as maple syrup, honey, fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, and eggs to add to your shopping list of local foods! Storage Guidelines for Fruits and Vegetables Once harvested, fruits and vegetables must be stored under proper conditions, the most important of which are temperature and humidity. Each fruit or vegetable has its own ideal set of conditions at which it will store most successfully for the maximum length of time. The tables below list ideal temperature and relative humidity requirements for most vegetables and fruit. The goal of storage is to keep them in a dormant state. The average household refrigerator does not provide these ideal conditions and thus the length of storage will be about one half the time stated in the tables. Vegetables that require cold (32°F.) & moist conditions (95% relative humidity)
