2017 Oakley City Municipal Elections 2017 is a municipal election year. These elections are administered by each of the municipalities within the County Any person seeking to become a candidate for a Oakley City municipal office shall files a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the City Recorder*during office hours and not later than 4:30 p.m. between June 1st, 2017 through June 7th, 2017 at the Oakley City Hall, 960 W. Center Street, Oakley. (20A-9203) The available positions to be filled are Mayor, one (2) City Council seats, 4-year term The qualifications to be a candidate are (10-3-301: 20A-9-203): Be a United States Citizen Be at least 18 years old. Be a resident of Oakley City or a resident of any recently annexed area for at least 365 consecutive days immediately preceding the date of the election. Be a registered voter of Oakley City Municipal Election Deadlines June 1st thru June 7th, 2017 –Candidates filing period begins. Declaration of Candidacy Forms or Nomination Petition must file with the city recorder (UCA 20A-9-203).*Note: Regular office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. August 1st thru August 11th, 2017 -Early Voting Begins (UCA 20A-5-101), August 15th, 2017 - Municipal Primary Election (if necessary) November 7th, 2017, -Municipal Election Day Government issued photo ID is required of all voters. Registering To Vote Fill out a voter registration form (Please enclose a photo copy of your Utah driver’s license). Return the form to the Summit county Clerk’s Office before the following deadlines listed below. You can also fill out a form online: http://www.co.summit.ut.us/clerk/downloads/VoterRegistration.pdf Registration deadline to vote in the General Election: July 17th, 2017 -Last day the County will accept mail-in voter registration forms for Primary Election (30 days before election) (20A-2-102.5(2)) August 8st, 2017 - Last date the County Clerk can register voters in office and voters may still vote early. (UCA 20A-2-201, 206) August 8th, 2017 - Last day a voter may register online and vote in the primary election. They cannot vote early.
