2017 PIRATE
Camp Directors Brandon Duvall was named volleyball head coach at Hampton April 1st, 2016. Duvall comes to Hampton after spending six years as the Head Coach at Norfolk State University. His first four seasons at NSU coincided with the program's best four-year stretch in its Div. I history. Holding the three winningest seasons in Norfolk State Div. I history Coach Duvall earned the 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Coach of the Year , the first major conference award for the program since moving to D-I prior to the 1997 season. During his six seasons Duvall has coached several student-athletes who own single match, single season, and/or all time NSU records including AllTime leaders in kills, attacks, blocks, block assists, sets played, assists and digs. At the club level Duvall coached the Coastal U17 team to a ninth-place finish at the 2014 AAU Open National Championships. In 2011 he led the Coastal Virginia U16 team to the club national title at the 38th AAU Girls Junior National Championships. His team went 14-0 during the four-day tournament losing just one set along the way. The team won the National Championship match in two sets coming back from a 16-22 deficit in both sets. Duvall’s team is currently the only team in Virginia the win a volleyball national championship at any level. Sonja Maksimovic will be entering her 1st season as assistnat coach after spending the last 6 season serving as the graduate assistant (2015-2016) and competing for the lady pirate as a left side attacker (2011-2014). As a player Sonja scored over 900 career points and was a key contributor to Hamptons back to back MEAC titles in 2013 and 2014. Sonja is from Belgrade, Serbia and is the recruiting coordinator for the 2017 Season.
Coaching Staff Additional instructors will include collegiate coaches, current college volleyball players and high level clu b coaches. An Athletic trainer will be on staff during each camp.

LOCATED AT THE TIDEWATER VOLLEYBALL CENTER IN VIRGINIA BEACH. This is a camp designed for middle to high school girls who wish to excel in volleyball and hopefully play at the collegiate level. This camp offers advanced skill instruction for all skills therefor we recommend that campers have at least two years of JV/Varsity experience or travel/ club experience.

Due to popular demand a defense session will be offered agagin this year and is open to middle and high school girls looking to enhance their back row play. This camp will be full of intense defensive drilling with thousands of ball contacts. We HIGHLY recommend wearing a long sleeved shirt or wear arm compression sleeves.
Advanced Attackers Camp Swing with More Power July 25 $50/camper 9am – 12pm For middle and high school girls who are looking to increase their scoring potential. This camp will teach how to develop a bigger arm swing to beat blockers across the net and stress backrow defenders.
