2017 PORTAGE INVITE ‘ALL STARS’ JULY 7TH THRU JULY 9th PLAYING RULES
Welcome to Portage Jr. Miss Softball “2017 PORTAGE INVITE ALL STAR TOURNAMENT” This tournament is for 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 18u All Star/Class C teams. NO JEWELRY OR METAL SPIKES ARE ALLOWED. Gates will open one hour prior to first game. (PJM is on Central Time Zone) Complex Location: See Attached Directions Check in: A Check In table/tent will be set up by Field 3. Please bring your team gate fee ($150.00) at this time, a printed copy of your team roster signed both by the parents of your team, and a copy of your team insurance. Please have Birth Certificates and/or ID’s on hand if questioned during the games. Bring all info to check in at least a half hour prior to start of your 1st game. Game Rules: (4 Games Guaranteed) NSA Rules with some modified * PJM Rules Games can start as early as 30 minutes prior to scheduled game time (first game of day 15 minutes early). 8u-Steal only 1 base per pitch, cannot steal home, and no drop 3rd. Pool Play Continuous Batting (all girls on roster bat) 4 Outfielders may be used Last out courtesy runner, pitcher & catcher Time Limit: 65 Minute (finish inning) May end in tie. No Protests Home team is decided by coin toss Mercy Rule: 12 after 3 innings, 10 after 4 innings, 8 after 5 innings NO infield warm ups after 1st inning Bracket Play Continuous Batting (all girls on roster bat) 4 outfielders may be used Last out courtesy runner, pitcher & catcher Higher seed in bracket play is Home Team (Wins/Loss, RS, and RA) Time Limit: 75 Minute (finish inning) International Tie Breaker after inning 7 or Time Limit Umpire calls are final No protests Mercy Rule: 12 after 3 innings, 10 after 4 innings, 8 after 5 innings NO infield warm ups after 1st inning
Pitching distances: 8u 35 feet, 10u 35 feet, 12u 40 feet, and 14u is 43 feet. There will be no pre-game/practice infield warm up allowed. No soft-toss into the fence is permitted. Coaches we ask that you have your fans please be respectful to these umpires. They are doing the best they can and yes they are human and will miss calls. Everyone should be respectful to one another coaches, fans and umpires. Remember it is your APPROACH that will help everyone keep calm during a hostile moment. Keep calm and remember we have our future watching us and how our actions are. If a coach gets ejected from a game, he must/ PARENTS/FANS ARE AWARE OF THIS Parking: Please park in the inside parking lot. Overflow parking is located on the outside southwest side of entrance gate. (This is also PJM property – No outside grilling will be allowed in this parking lot). There is no overnight RV parking allowed. Concession: PJM has a full-service concession stand available located by Field 3. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS IS ALLOWED TO BE BROUGHT IN. NO OUTSIDE GRILLS ALLOWED. Smoking: SMOKING IS ONLY PERMITTED IN DESIGNATED AREAS (PARKING LOT ONLY) SMOKERS ARE TO SMOKE IN PARKING LOT ONLY OR IN VEHICLE Animals: ABSOLUTELY NO ANIMALS ALLOWED AT COMPLEX (i.e. dogs, cats, etc) Team Coolers: ONLY 1 TEAM COOLER ALLOWED; Other COOLERS ARE NOT ALLOWED to be brought into the complex. You may have your own cooler but must be kept at all times in your car. Alcohol: NO ALCOHOL BEVERAGES IS ALLOWED Noise Makers: No noise makers are allowed
