10:00 to 10:35 a.m. Session 3: Traffic Growth Rates—The Folly of Exponen al Growth Presenter: Felipe Vernaza, WSP Canada Group Limited Felipe will provide a compelling and technically fascina ng perspec ve on why compound growth rates are an inappropriate way to predict future traffic volumes on roadways and at intersec ons.

This 19km light rail corridor will include both below‐grade and at‐grade sec ons, and is the largest public‐private partnership transit project under way in the country. AGENDA—THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. Session 6: Panel Discussion on Pedestrian Crossovers—Comparing Municipal Experiences Panelists: Deanna Green, City of Kingston Greg Kent, City of O awa Joe Rocca, Municipality of Greater Sudbury Heide Schlegl, Town of Milton It is coming on two years since the province modified the HTA and associated regula on to permit alterna ve forms of the previously exis ng Pedestrian Crossover device. Since that me municipali es have been implemen ng crossings, some more ac vely than others and some s ll considering them. With implementa on has come ques ons, concerns and recogni on, or not, that PXOs are providing the results they were intending or hoping to. The panel discussion will have four municipali es of varying sizes present their programs including components that are more unique to them and a feel for compliance. Workshop a endees will have the opportunity to ask the panel presenters ques ons and/or share with others what is happening in their municipali es. Topic areas up for discussion would include, Book 15 usage and suitability, compliance, costs/funding, equipment, suppor ng measures – flex stakes, enforcement, roundabouts, right turn channels, school crossings, and educa on amongst other areas of interest.

The presenta on outlines the rela onship between TIA Guidelines and strategic policy, the structure of the updated Guidelines, and the work that Consultants and developers are expected to undertake in the prepara on of TIA in O awa
