You get what you pay for Executive Summary Crossfit Wylie was searching for a more affordable all-in-one software solution to replace Wodify in their three gyms and found Triib. On the surface, it seemed like Triib offered the same features as Wodify, but for a lower price. Unfortunately, their poor experiences with the software led them to regret their choice and they made the switch back to Wodify a few months later.
“I didn’t realize how easy it was to manage memberships and invoicing with Wodify until we didn’t have it.” Chris Coker CrossFit Wylie Owner
About CrossFit Wylie CrossFit Wylie is the first and oldest CrossFit affiliate in the Wylie/Sachse/Murphy, Texas area. Their main facility is a 6,400 sq. ft. gym on the Wylie/Murphy border that accommodates 260 athletes and nine coaches. Owner Chris Coker’s vision is to cater to young parents and professionals and promote a family-oriented atmosphere. Challenges As a family-oriented gym, Triib’s Family function was a crucial tool for Coker’s business, and the one that gave him the most problems. He explained, “If you have a husband on a membership and try to add his wife on a later date, Triib would require that they be billed on the same date and attempt to prorate the invoice and automatically apply a 50% discount for family memberships.” The program applied the discount automatically without ever notifying the Triib program administrators. Coker continued, “When I brought this issue to their attention, I felt like I was the first one to inform them. They acted like we should have known about it. All of our invoices got screwed up. It created a financial hardship.” Solution After only three months using Triib software, Coker and CrossFit Wylie returned to Wodify. “I didn’t realize how easy it was to manage memberships and invoicing [with Wodify] until we didn’t have it.” Using Wodify, Coker can offer a variety of different programs across his gyms, and charge different amounts for them. “I didn’t realize how easy it was to do until we went back to Wodify.”

Another reason why he switched back to Wodify was due to problems with Triib’s mobile app. “[Their] app was completely unusable,” said Coker. “All of our members downloaded it and then deleted it within 24 hours. The liking and commenting on one another’s workouts was huge and losing that was a really big deal. We lost that connection because we weren’t able to use the app at all.”
"Our members really enjoyed and engaged with the ability to enter their scores with Wodify’s performance tracking." Chris Coker CrossFit Wylie Owner
Results Logistically and financially, switching back to Wodify was an easy decision for Chris Coker. All of the features that attracted Wylie to Triib, from offering discounts and credits to signing up members, fell flat and simply didn’t function correctly. “There’s not any reason to be with Triib. It’s just not as good. That’s just all there is to it.” He added, “Our members really enjoy and engage with the ability to enter their scores with Wodify’s performance tracking. They want to be able to see the workouts as well as update their photos and credit card info when they need to and have it all actually work.”
