DETERMINATION OF HOME TEAM First Round: The higher-seeded team shall be designated as the home team Subsequent Rounds: The home team shall be designated using the following guidelines (except “if necessary” games): 1. The institution that has been the home team the fewer number of times in the tournament. 2. If the two teams are equal with respect to #1 above but unequal in the number of times they were the visitor, then the team that has been the visitor more often will be designated as the home team. 3. If the two teams are equal in the number of times they have been home and visitor, the home team will be determined by the following procedures in the order listed: a. If the two teams have met earlier in the tournament, the visitor in the previous game shall be designated as the home team for that contest; b. The team that was visitor in its preceding game shall be the home team, unless both teams were the visitor in their preceding games; or c. If the above procedures do not resolve the matter, the home shall be determined by lot. If Necessary Games: The teams will reverse home and away designation regardless of the above guidelines but remain in the same dugout and same uniforms.
