The tournament honors Mrs. Carrie A. Kirkpatrick, the first African American female golfer in Charlotte. She was known as the First Lady & Senior States-woman for African American female golfers in the Metrolina Area having played in many senior games, receiving numerous trophies and awards. She was also honored as a pioneer in integrating golf in Mecklenburg County. Your sponsorship or donation provides the funding to feed and support many of the hungry in the Statesville Avenue area, and assist families without regard to religious, social or economic background. In the past, proceeds have supported the St. Martin de Porres Food Pantry and the Lucille Giles Men’s Shelter. The proceeds from this fundraiser are essential for the continuation of many of these services.
