Minnesota State has won five Northern Sun Intercollegiate Championships, qualified for the NCAA tournament every year and won four NCAA regional tournaments in advancing to the national tournament where the Mavericks have placed second (2013), third twice (2014 and 2012) and seventh (2010). Magers, the 2017 NSIC Coach of the Year, guided Minnesota State to a 46-11 (.807) record, its 10th NSIC regular season title, its fifth NSIC Tournament title and its 36th NCAA Tournament appearance, last season.
