2018 Morro Bay Junior Lifeguards PROGRAMS Junior Guard Pool Program Program to help prepare children for the Morro Bay junior lifeguard beach program.
Junior Guard 2.0: 2-week, Fast Pace Junior Guard Program for children with previous Junior Guard experience.
Endurance and safety in and around the water will be emphasized. Prerequisites: • Age 9 years and older • 75 yards swim • Tread water
Prerequisites: • Dolphin or Orca in 2017 • 12 years and older • 100 yards under 2 minutes or coordinator approval When: June 11 - 22, Must meet prerequisites Days: Monday - Friday Times: 9 to 2 p.m.
Session 1: April 14 - May 5 Session 2: May 17 - June 16 Days: Saturdays Times: 1:30 to 3:30 pm Cost: $110 Where: MBHS Aquatic Center
Morro bay junior lifeguard program 3-week Beach Junior Lifeguard program. The Morro Bay Junior Lifeguard Program is designed to increase the participant’s appreciation and understanding of the recreational opportunities and hazards associated with the ocean environment. Participants will receive education and hands-on experience in ocean safety, environmental awareness, first-aid, rescue techniques, surfing and paddle boarding, beach activities, physical fitness and marine safety operations. An end of the season party is also included. Prerequisites: • • • •
Age 9 years and older 100 yards under 3 minutes 5 min tread water 15 feet underwater swim
Session 1: June 26 - July 14 Session 2: July 24 - Aug 11
Cost: $225 Where: Morro Rock, First Lifeguard Tower
Days: Monday - Friday Times: 9 to 2 p.m.
Swim Assessments:
Cost: $345 (includes t-shirt and group photo)
• May 12 @ 1:30 - 3:30 pm at MBHS Aquatic Center If your child is unable to attend, other times may be arranged at MBHS Aquatic Center or download a swim waiver form from our website www.leaguelineup.com/mbsports and it can be found on the handouts page. Every child needs to be assessed annually.
