BENEDICTINE UNIVERSITY MEN’S GOLF
2018 WINTER CAMP
Camp Director Frank Janczak
Frank Janczak joined the Eagles program as an assistant men’s basketball coach in 2002 and began heading up the Benedictine golf program in 2005. Janczak has led teams to a top-three finish in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) on six occasions in addition to coaching 13 All-Conference athletes and three “Freshman of the Year” winners. Janczak shared the 2008 conference coach of the year award after R.J. Schwalbach became the first ever and only Benedictine player to earn an individual title in the NACC. Janczak laid the foundation for the Eagles’ first-ever efforts in fielding a women’s team in 2007.

One of Janczak’s top student-athletes came on the women’s side, as he guided Alexis Wadowski to one of the most decorated careers in BenU history from 2009 to 2013. Under Janczak, Wadowski was a four-time all-conference selection, named the conference’s “Freshman of the Year” in 2009, earned numerous NAC Scholar Athlete honors, was named Academic All-American in 2010-2011, and shot sub-80 rounds at the Conference Championships in both 2011 and 2012. Janczak began his coaching career at North Central College. During his 12-year tenure at his alma mater, Janczak helped the Cardinals to four College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) basketball titles. A coach under Bob Bray (a 1979 graduate of then-Illinois Benedictine College), Janczak was responsible for a variety of duties during his tenure at North Central, including scouting, film breakdown and recruiting. A 1984 graduate of North Central, Janczak also served as the head men’s basketball coach at fellow Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference school Dominican University for two years. He is a senior financial accountant/manager and resides in Naperville, Ill., with wife Kerry and their three children (Tyler, Kyle and Jamie).
