2018 Yearbook PDA Information Straight from the heart and into the yearbook! Our staff offers the opportunity to “personalize” the yearbook in a very special way with a PDA ads for seniors. Space is available to tell your student how proud you are! Your ad provides a great way to recognize a student or event that our staff may not otherwise be able to cover. To reserve your space, follow these guidelines: Step-by-Step Instructions 1] Select ad size. Reserve the size and make payment by October 2nd. 2] Complete the Order Form provided. 3] Write message for ad in English. • on the order form or attach a sheet • e-mail to [email protected] 4] Deliver all photos and message by November 2nd. Note tips for photo submission on this sheet. All the prices (tax included) this year in hopes that more seniors will place an ad. 1/4 page: $85 1/2 page: $155 full page: $260 MESSAGE IDEAS Think about the message from the point of view of your senior. What moments in the senior’s life were the most significant? Does the family have any inside jokes that would make the message special for the senior? What does the parent admire most about the child? The best senior messages will mean more to the child than to other readers. A message that makes reference to moments in the senior’s life without explaining them to the reader: “You endured a terrible loss at 7, but instead of being bitter and jealous of others, you became even more compassionate and loving. You are a beautiful young lady, inside and out. Your bubbly and sweet personality leaves a lasting and positive impression on people – even a Lenexa police officer!”
A message from siblings is sometimes the most personal text in a yearbook: “Seester, whatever you do, don’t sulk. You look like a pigeon.”
Deadline: November 2, 2017
Photo Submission Guidelines 1. Do not cut, glue or tape photos. 2. Care will be taken to return photos; however, copy prints should be submitted for irreplaceable photos. The school and yearbook staff do not accept responsibility for lost or damaged photos. Photos will be returned when the proofs are in. 3. You can submit images with at least 300 dpi resolution: • as a quality print •on a CD • on a flash drive •email [email protected] 4. Photos will be sized to fit the lay-out and space. 5. You will only have a few photos to honor your senior. The photos should be different from one another. Find photos that show different expressions and to remember that the fewer photos on the PDA, the larger they will be able to be printed. 6. Blurry, pixelated or otherwise damaged photos will not reproduce any better in the yearbook. A blurry photo will still be a blurry photo, and will probably look worse in the yearbook than it does in the original. 7. Basic senior ads are usually accompanied by: •The professional senior photo headshot. •A picture of the senior as a child with a favorite toy, a pet or siblings or participating in an activity he continued through high school (sports, dance, fishing, hunting, etc.). •A close-up of the senior as a baby. Final Approval You will be given a proof of the PDA to approve or make modifications. We will make corrections, but once it has been submitted for printing, we can not make changes. Special Considerations The yearbook staff reserves the right to reject photos or text or ask the customer to make changes to conform to the staff’s standards. Example: inappropriate photos or language.
