Chula Vista BMX will again host the U. S.Open on the amazing amateur track at the U.S. Olympic training center -- yet with a slightly different schedule than your standard National weekend. The two National caliber events will be spread over three action-packed days of BMX racing, pitting the fastest racers from around the country, in all age classes and categories. Note that the U.S. Open National No.2 will be held on both Saturday and Sunday.

National BMX Hall of Fame induction ceremony Following Saturday’s Olympic Trials will be the annual induction ceremony for the National BMX Hall of Fame! Held outdoors at the Olympic circle under the glow of the Olympic flame, five new BMX greats will be added to the honorable Hall. This year, for the first time ever, includes the Women’s specific category. Also being added as Special Recognition inductees will be the four members of 2008’s USA Olympic team Mike Day, Donny Robinson, Kyle Bennett and Jill Kitner. National BMX Hall of Fame golf tournament
With all proceeds going toward the National BMX Hall of Fame scholarship fund, you have the opportunity to golf with BMX legends and Hall of Famers. It’s the third annual BMX golf tourney that matches up golfers of all skill levels. Cost is $100 per participant. Go to www.eventbrite.com
Who will earn an automatic spot on Team USA?! Come witness the battle for one of only
three available positions for the 2012 USA Olympic Team. Will it go to Connor Fields - if he hasn’t yet qualified? Could it be Tucson’s Corben Sharrah? Maybe San Diego’s very own Nic Long? Or perhaps it’ll be one of the five yet-to-be named members of the long-team, whose one and only shot at possible Olympic glory is this trials event. Spectators will be treated to the first race held on the OTC’s new London-replica track, and watch as one individual’s Olympic dream comes true.
