AFTER SCHOOL/ LUNCHTIME CLUBS Please find below information regarding the clubs running next halfterm. If your child will be taking part in any clubs the office staff MUST be informed either in person or by letter or telephone call by a responsible adult if they will be missing a session for whatever reason. This must be given WELL IN ADVANCE of the club – preferably the day before or 9.00 am at the very latest on the morning of the club in question. Children MUST NOT be expected to convey this message accurately and of course may not be passing on an accurate message at all. It has been known that a child verbally tells us they cannot attend a club on the morning of the club and we later find there was a „plot‟ between children to go to a friend‟s house. We cannot take this risk. When a child is reported as not attending a club the office staff are tasked with contacting the parent to find out why the child is not in school and whether or not they have been collected and are indeed „safe‟. If we cannot contact anyone to confirm the missing child is safe we are duty bound to report this to the Police. I am sure you can appreciate the importance of you advising us in advance. If we have not been informed by an adult and the child decides to leave the premises they will be stopped from attending all clubs for a

term. We cannot stress enough the importance of us being informed – this is a Child Protection requirement. The following clubs will run after the Easter break from week beginning Tuesday 21st April 2015. This will be a total of 5 weeks. Obviously with the In-Service Day on Monday 20th April, Monday clubs will run for 4 weeks. Netball – PLEASE NOTE - This club will be moving from a lunchtime session to Monday evening. This will run from 3.30 to 4.30 pm. If you allow your child to take part in these training sessions this does not mean that they will play for the school team – simply that they will have the opportunity to participate in the training. Ukulele – Unfortunately there will be no ukulele session on 22nd April so this club will run for 4 weeks commencing on 29th April. Football - Those children taking part in football training will require their full football kit and shin pads. Also please be aware that if you allow your child to take part in football training, this does not mean they will play for the school team – simply that they will have the opportunity to participate in the training. Art and Craft Clubs – these clubs have limited places. Please pay promptly to avoid disappointment. Lingotot – Unfortunately this club has been withdrawn due to low numbers of pupils participating. I know those children who have regularly attended will be disappointed but we will try to reintroduce this at some point during the next school year dependent on interest. THOSE CHILDREN TAKING PART IN LUNCHTIME SPORTING ACTIVITIES MUST HAVE A COMPLETE CHANGE OF CLOTHES SEPARATE TO THEIR P.E. KIT AS TRAINING WILL BE OUTDOORS AND THEY MAY GET MUDDY. Appropriate P.E. kit and outdoor clothing is required for sports activities. Places are limited for these clubs, therefore please return all applications and money by no later than Thursday 1st April 2015 so that clubs can commence on the first day back. Your child cannot attend a club until payment has been made. Please do not assume there will be a place available – some clubs are limited numbers and it will be first come-first served. Any late payments will be expected to cover the total number of weeks whether your child has attended or not. Unless you receive a letter from us stating that your child has been unsuccessful on this occasion, please assume that you have secured a place for the selected club.
