Overview Council of International Students Australia Formed in 2010, the Council of International Students Australia (CISA) is recognized as the peak student representative organization for all international students in Australia. CISA is a not-for-profit organisation formed in response to the needs among international students for a unified voice. Today, CISA speaks for more than 450,000 international students currently studying in Australian education institutions including universities, TAFE, private colleges, and ELICOS. CISA performs many different functions and presently sits on several committees concerning the international education sector in Australia. Close consultation is maintained with various Federal and State government departments, the Deputy ViceChancellors International Committee, education providers, peak education sector bodies, international education organisation such as ISANA and IEAA, and a number of other education industry associations at regional, national and international levels. For further information on CISA, please visit www.cisa.edu.au. CISA Annual Conference (CISAAC) The Council of International Students Australia Annual Conference (CISAAC) is the only conference that is fully organised and attended by, and for international students. CISA Annual Conference (CISAAC) is the supreme decision-making body of CISA. The CISA Annual Conference is made up of delegates representing the International Student Organisations (ISOs) from education providers throughout Australia. As well as determining the major goals and policies of CISA, the CISAAC also elects CISA National Office Bearers during the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Most importantly, the CISAAC is an opportunity for international students to meet up annually to discuss issues and debate policies which affect all international students in Australia. National Education Conference National Education Conference (NEC) is a two day program of the CISAAC where important issues concerning the welfare of international students studying in Australia are raised and discussed. These might be issues concerning the quality of education received by international students, issues on immigration and other student welfare issues. Delegates to this conference include students, university administration, student advisers, vice chancellors, members of parliament and others who have an interest in international education.

Media Potential A conference of this size will be sure to attract some media attention. We intend to fully capitalize on this aspect to gain maximum publicity for the conference and our sponsors. The focus of the conference will be during the National Education Conference. We will be holding a press lunch for media interaction and distribute media kits to targeted press. The press will also be invited to attend all conference events. Radio Radio stations such as Triple J, Triple M and ABC radio are potential stations likely to be interested in reporting on the CISA AC due to the relevance of the conference to the listeners. University radio stations will also be approached to attend the conference and broadcast sessions or interviews session speakers. Newspapers We will be targeting national, local and community newspapers for coverage of the conference. Newspapers such as The Australian, The Age, The Financial Review and other community newspapers will be sent media kits containing conference information. All University newspapers will be invited to the press lunch. Magazines Campus editorials for the local universities will be approached to cover issues relevant to the conference. These magazines have an approximate circulation of 10,000, and will be highly useful in gaining the attention of international students. Website The 2011 CISAAC website, www.CISA.edu.au/CISAac will be the first stop for latest conference information as well as on-line registration. It will also contain logos and relevant material of the conference sponsors. Email Emails will be sent out to attending delegates, universities and interested parties. This is estimated to be around 300 each time an update is sent out. Each email will have the logo of major sponsors on them. Therefore, we believe the Annual Conference is uniquely placed to promote your company. As a major sponsor of the Inaugural CISA Annual Conference in 2011, your conference will be promoted to all delegates who come to the conference, and to those who have an interest in international education. The publicity involved in an event of this scale will ensure maximum exposure of all sponsors.
