3 Point Challenge Rules The following game rules apply to all divisions Recreation Intramural Program Guidelines apply
Requirements 1. Student participants must be currently enrolled for at least one credit hour and maintain a 2.0 cumulative

G.P.A. or higher. a. Students who have a cumulative G.P.A. lower than a 2.0 can appeal by making an appointment with the Intramural & Recreational Sports Specialist. Decision will be based on improvement from their previous semester. Alumni’s, Full Time Faculty and Staff participants must be a current member of the Rec Center (they are excluded from participating in Extramural events). All participants must present their valid school ID to play. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! All participants must submit the Intramural Waiver to participate. All contestants must attain an IMleagues account in order to participate. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
Regulations The Court A. The game will be played using half of the basketball court. B. The participant will have to shoot from 5 different spots on the 3-pt line. At each spot they will have 5 shot attempts. C. In Men’s and Women’s, the participant will have a time limit of 60 seconds. D. The participant who completes the course with the most points will be the winner.
Teams, Participants and Equipment 1. One player on the court at a time. 2. Each participant will be given a 3- Minute warm up while the officials make sure the court is safe and suitable to use. 3. Make sure you all check in. 4. Make sure you are properly equipped. 5. Basketballs will be provided. 6. Men will use the men’s ball and the Women will use the women’s ball. 7. No jewelry is allowed even if it’s tape.
Game Play 1. The game will start and end on the officials whistle. 2. The game will finish either when the participant attempts every 3-pt shot or when the 60 second time limit expires. 3. The participant will not be allowed to advance to the next rack until they attempt every shot.
Beginning the Game A. The participant will wait until the official is ready for them to start. The official will let the participant know when they can begin. If a participant is ejected from a game, that participant must meet with the Coordinator of Intramural Sports before they can play again in ANY Intramurals sport or league. There is no guarantee that the participant will be allowed to play again.
B. The participant will then start shooting from the first rack and make their way through all 5 shooting spots. C. Once the participant finishes the course the official will write down their score, and then the next participant will go and so on. D. If there is a tie, the participants who tied will compete in a half-court shot to determine the winner. E. You must be behind the 3-pt line in order for the shot to count. The official will determine if the shot will or will not count.
Conduct on the Court 1. Sportsmanship is an important part of Intramurals. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. 2. Please show good sportsmanship to every participant. Cheer them on if possible 3. Always listen to the officials, if you have a problem with one of the officials report it to the supervisor who is on duty.
