Devizes Christmas Lantern Parade Devizes Christmas Lantern Parade, on Friday 25th November, marks the beginning of the festive season. It's a magical evening, with a visit from Father Christmas and the switching on of the Christmas lights, come along and enjoy the fun! You are invited to join the Lantern Making Workshops which will be held at Southbroom St James Academy School hall on Monday 7th November, Thursday 17th November and Monday 21st November from 3:30 - 5:00pm. This year we have decided to use a new design, a stunning reindeer head lantern. Each lantern will cost £4:00 and you will need to attend all the workshops. Monday 7th November – Learning how to create the paper reindeer head (to be completed at home) and making willow antlers. Thursday 17th November – Paper mache time! Covering the reindeer head and antlers. Monday 21st November – Attaching the lights and adding the finishing touchs! It would be very useful if you could return the form attached to give me an idea of numbers and ensure that we have enough lantern making resources. This year Southbroom Infants will be holding workshops in their school hall where they will be making small, simple, diamond shaped lanterns on Tuesday 1st, 8th and 15th November. Both schools will join together for the parade. If you have any queries please have a chat with me. I'm really looking forward to this fantastic event!
