Dear Mr. Whitlock, I recently joined the Surrey Family History Society to start my searches for my husband's families in Redhill, Surrey, and the London area. Mrs. Saunders of the Society has very kindly given me your name and address as someone being interested in the name of WHITLOCK. yJ():;,t>o
My husbana's mother was a FLORENCE WHITLOCK, daughter of George WHITLOCK and Elizabeth LONG. George was a carman, according to his daughter's birth certificate and at the birth of Florence, 23 February, 1894, they lived at 43 Peach Street, Queens Park, district of Chelsea, sub-district of Chelsea-Kensal Farm.,( r;.~-Rlc"t-..J. .. I was wondering if you had any information regarding the Whitlock family in this area. It is not a very common name but, of course, looking in or near London presents problems in itself. I hope you don't mind me writing but as my husband and I are now we probably won't visit England much and all my search has to be the LDS Library nearby and from correspondence. I have met many people through the family history societies and correspondence. involved in genealogy seem to be a "pretty good bunch". Sincerely,
