3B Fall 7U Rules 1. AGE LIMIT a. Players whose age is 7 or younger prior to May 1st of current year. 2. LENGTH OF GAME a. Complete game shall be 6 innings or limited to 1 hour and 45 minutes from the time of the first pitch. No new inning after 1 hour and 45 minutes. 3. OFFENSIVE LINE-UP a. All players bat. b. On balls hit to the outfield, all runners will stop at the base they are advancing to when the ball is returned to the infield from the outfield and controlled, including last batter. c. On infield plays, runners will stop at the base they are advancing to when an infielder has control of the ball. 4. DEFENSIVE LINE-UP a. (11) Players on field each inning. i. Catcher, 1st Base, 2nd Base, Shortstop, 3rd Base. ii. (1) Defensive Pitcher; pitcher must remain within 6 feet of the pitcher’s mound until batter has made contact with the ball. iii. (5) Outfielders; spaced equally apart and equal distances from home plate. b. (1) Coach allowed in the outfield. c. No player will be on the bench for two consecutive innings. d. Coach will pitch to his own team using the league provided pitching machine. e. Players may not play the same position more than two innings per game. 5. RULES a. No base on balls given. b. Batter either hits ball or strikes out. c. (1) Swing required per (3) pitches; every 3rd pitch will be a called strike if not swung upon. d. (9) Pitches maximum. e. No bunting, stealing or Infield Fly Rule f. Runners may not leave the base until batter has made contact with the ball. g. Overthrows: All runners advance one base. An overthrow is any ball which goes beyond the backstop line parallel to the baseline. h. If a batted ball hits the pitching machine or ball bucket on the field prior to a player fielding the ball, it is a “dead ball” and the batter will be awarded 1st base. Runners on base will advance one base if forced by the batter. i. Batters must use face guards on batting helmets 6. MERCY & MAX BATTERS/INNING RULES a. If any team is 15 or more runs ahead after 4 innings or 10 or more runs ahead after 5 innings, the game shall be terminated. b. A team’s time at bat, in any given inning, will be either 3 outs or one time through the batting line-up, whichever comes first. The batting line-up will consist of a number equal to the greater number of players on either team. 7. FIELD DIMENSIONS a. 60 feet base paths. b. Pitching rubber at 46 feet. 8. SLIDING a. No head first slides into any base. 9. BAT SIZE a. Bat size is limited to 2 1/4” diameter. If a team is found to be using a bat larger than 2 ¼” diameter, the batter will be called out. Any subsequent violations of this rule will result in forfeiture of the game. 10. EXCEPTIONS a. The above mentioned rules take precedent over the National Federation Rules where these rules differ. 7/20/2017

3B Fall 9U Rules 1. AGE LIMIT a. Players whose age is 9 or younger prior to May 1st of current year. 2. LENGTH OF GAME a. Complete game shall be 6 innings or limited to 1 hour and 45 minutes from the time of the first pitch. No new inning after 1 hour and 45 minutes. b. In the case of darkness, rain, or inclement weather, 3-1/2 innings shall constitute a legal game if the home team is ahead. If a game is called before 3-1/2 innings are played, all statistics will be disregarded, including innings pitched. 3. OFFENSIVE LINE-UP a. All players bat. 4. DEFENSIVE LINE-UP a. The defensive line-up for teams will consist of 10 players. The extra player will be an outfielder. 5. RULES a. The catcher does NOT have to hold the third strike b. Base runners shall not leave their base until the ball has been delivered and has reached the batter. Stealing of bases is allowed after the ball reaches the plate. If a runner leaves early, or misses or fails to touch a base or retouch a base, they will be called out by the umpire after the play is complete. No appeal is required. c. No player can score from third base except, a play ensuing from a fair batted ball, caught foul ball, walk/hit batter with bases loaded, or catcher’s interference. One steal of home plate per inning on a pitched ball. The rule does not include a pitcher or catcher throwing to a base. On the second attempt, the runner will be sent back after the play is dead, unless tagged out. d. Pitchers may only straight pitches (fastballs, change-ups or knuckleballs). Breaking balls (other than a natural curve) are prohibited and will be called a ball by the umpire. e. The balk rule will NOT be enforced, but the pitcher must have 1 foot in contact with the rubber. f. Pitchers will be allowed to pitch a maximum of 6 consecutive outs per game. g. Once a pitcher is removed from the mound, they may not re-enter as a pitcher h. No intentional walks allowed i. Infield Fly Rule will NOT be used. j. Face guards on batting helmets is optional k. A courtesy runner for the catcher may be used when there are (2) outs. The courtesy runner will be the player who made the last out. l. Appeals to the umpire must be made by the opposing team’s head coach, after completion of the play and during a dead ball timeout. m. Players must use molded cleats (no metal) 6. 3B Fall 13U Rules 1. AGE LIMIT a. Players whose age is 13 or younger prior to May 1st of current year. 2. LENGTH OF GAME a. Complete game shall be 7 innings or limited to 2 hours from the time of the first pitch. No new inning after 2 hours. b. In the case of darkness, rain, or inclement weather, 4 1/2 innings shall constitute a legal game if the home team is ahead. If a game is called before 4 1/2 innings are played, all statistics will be disregarded, including innings pitched. 3. OFFENSIVE LINE-UP b. All players bat. 4. DEFENSIVE LINE-UP b. The defensive line-up for teams will consist of 9 players. 5. RULES a. The catcher MUST hold the third strike b. Stealing of bases is allowed c. Pitchers may only throw all types of pitches and balks will be enforced. d. Pitchers will be limited to a maximum of 80 pitches per day, regardless of the number of games scheduled that day. The pitcher will be allowed to exceed 80 total pitches, in order to complete a plate appearance by a batter if the plate appearance began with the pitcher below 80 pitches. The pitcher must be removed from the game immediately following that plate appearance. e. Infield Fly Rule will be in effect f. Face guards on batting helmets is optional g. A courtesy runner for the catcher may be used when there are (2) outs. The courtesy runner will be the player who made the last out. h. Appeals to the umpire must be made by the opposing team’s head coach, after completion of the play and during a dead ball timeout, or use the high school appeal process. i. Metal cleats are allowed 6. MERCY RULE a. The mercy rule will apply. If any team is ahead 15 or more runs after 3 innings, 10 or more after 4 innings, or 8 or more after 5 innings or later, the game shall be terminated. b. There is no maximum limit to the number of batters or runs scored by the offensive team in an inning. 7. FIELD DIMENSIONS a. 80 feet base paths. b. Pitching rubber at 54 feet. 8. SLIDING a. Head first slides into any base are permitted 9. BAT SIZE a. Bats up to 2 5/8” diameter barrel are allowed with drops between -3 to - 9. 2 ¼” diameter barrel bats are allowed with unlimited drops. All bats MUST display proper markings and be properly certified according to current year standards, to be used in game play. 10. EXCEPTIONS a. The above mentioned rules take precedent over the National Federation Rules where these rules differ.

3B Fall 16U Rules 1. AGE LIMIT a. Players whose age is 16 or younger prior to May 1st of current year. 2. LENGTH OF GAME a. Complete game shall be 7 innings or limited to 2 hours from the time of the first pitch. No new inning after 2 hours. b. In the case of darkness, rain, or inclement weather, 4 1/2 innings shall constitute a legal game if the home team is ahead. If a game is called before 4 1/2 innings are played, all statistics will be disregarded, including innings pitched. 3. OFFENSIVE LINE-UP a. All players bat. 4. DEFENSIVE LINE-UP a. The defensive line-up for teams will consist of 9 players. 5. RULES a. The catcher MUST hold the third strike b. Stealing of bases is allowed c. Pitchers may only throw all types of pitches and balks will be enforced. d. Infield Fly Rule will be in effect e. Face guards on batting helmets is optional f. A courtesy runner for the catcher may be used when there are (2) outs. The courtesy runner will be the player who made the last out. g. Appeals to the umpire must be made by the opposing team’s head coach, after completion of the play and during a dead ball timeout, or use the high school appeal process. h. Pitchers can return to the mound if they were not removed from the game i. Pitchers can pitch a maximum of 12 innings in any given day j. Metal cleats are allowed k. Intentional walks are permitted. The catcher or Head Coach will inform the umpire, and the batter will be awarded 1st base with no pitches thrown. 6. MERCY RULE a. The mercy rule will apply. If any team is ahead 15 or more runs after 3 innings, 10 or more after 4 innings, or 8 or more after 5 innings or later, the game shall be terminated. b.
