2016 SAMPLER Quilts Plus 2016 Sampler has two new color ways to choose from featuring 12” blocks in your choice of Christmas fabrics or greys and yellows. This 12 month program meets as follows: 2nd Monday of each month at 10:15, 1:30 or 3:30. We will be demonstrating options for construction at each session. If the scheduled times are not convenient, or you prefer not to come to a meeting at all, you may pick up your block any time after the 2nd Monday of each month – or we can set up a program to mail your blocks to you. ADVANCED MACHINE QUILTING Bring a small project that is ready to be quilted with the top, batting and the backing of the project sandwiched and safety pinned together. Learn how to create continuous curves; how to treat stop borders and outer borders! We will also go over the ins and outs of thread selection, quilt pattern marking methods and how to choose the best quilting pattern for your projects! Instructor: Cindy (1 session 10-3) DATE: Tuesday, 8/2 Cost: $35 Bargello – You Choose Pick any of the quilts from Eileen Wright’s “Twist-and-Turn Bargello Quilts” or “More Twist-and-Turn Bargello Quilts”. The quilts in these books streak up and down or wave, twist or curve to create beautiful shapes with incredible movement. Choose colors to complement your décor and taste. If you need help with quilt or binding—we’re your girls; if you want to make a special table runner or placemats—we’re your girls; if you want to learn more home decorating ideas, tips or techniques—we’re your girls; if you’ve always wanted to learn to paper piece—we’re your girls; if there is a certain bag that’s giving you fits— we’re your girls. The cost for this would be $20 for a day from 10 to 3. Arrangements for a Custom Class would have to be made in advance, and there are some days this option is not possible. Each set of three fat quarters will make three blocks of “floating” stars. “leftover strips” make the pieced border. Fun to make, and you will be pleased with the results. Sizes from crib to king. Learn a great appliqué technique and how to make a bias twisted vine. EVENTS TO REMEMBER AT QUILTS PLUS BENCH PILLOW OF THE MONTH These attractive bench pillows by KimberBell are 16” x 38”. Each month you purchase a kit and a pattern to make a seasonal pillow for that month. There will be a monthly class in the assembly of these pillows. Take one class, take one each month, or do them on your own. You will want to own all twelve. The first month you will also construct your pillow form (you will only need one). These are a custom size and the assembly instructions are included in each pattern.
2016 SAMPLER—IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO START! Quilts Plus 2016 Sampler has two new color ways to choose from featuring 12” blocks in your choice of Christmas fabrics or greys and yellows. This 12 month program meets as follows: 2nd Monday of each month at 10:15, 1:30 or 3:30. We will be demonstrating options for construction at each session. If the scheduled times are not convenient, or you prefer not to come to a meeting at all, you may pick up your block any time after the 2nd Monday of each month – or we can set up a program to mail your blocks to you.
