Appearance: Neat and properly dressed. Presenter should state if choice of clothing is meant to enhance his/ her presentation. Voice: Clear, strong, distinct pronunciation with reasonably strong projection; speaks at a comfortable pace. Posture / Poise: Confident yet relaxed demeanor; appears calm and personable. Eye Contact: Establishes and maintains good eye contact with the audience throughout the presentation. Enthusiasm (Tone & Inflection): Excites audience emotionally (as it relates to the subject matter), or draws audience in. Fielded Questions Appropriately: Restates questions and provides a clear and concise response.

Topic (Appropriate for Age & Experience): Topic is challenging but within the ability of the presenter. Up-to-Date Information — Sources Provided: Two or more sources, cited correctly, which clearly support the information conveyed. Understanding of Subject Matter: Evidence that information is understood; not parroted, by adequate response to questions and application of information in the presentation. One Main Theme with Logical Steps: Information is presented in a logical, clear, effective order.

Introduction: Presenter uses creative introduction to stimulate audience interest (i.e. explains why the topic is important to the presenter and/or the audience). (DISTRICT LEVEL: Presenters must have a creative introduction or they will be given an Automatic “Needs Improvement”. Evidence of Planning & Practice: Evident that the presentation was well planned & practiced. Proper use of Equipment / Quality of Visual Aids: Appropriate use of presentation aids; implies suitable choice, arrangement and use of equipment; this includes safety, sanitary and clean-up. Materials and equipand ready for ment should be logically arranged in the demonstration space so that they remain organized use or find throughout the presentation Visual Aids — If used, should be neat, concise, appropriate and legible; when necessary show an enlarged or reduced view of a detail; summarize steps; and list pertinent information such as formula or recipe. Appropriate Length for Age & Experience: Presenter uses appropriate amount of time to effectively get point across & overall presentation length is appropriate for age & experience of presenter. Effective (Proper) Use of Visual Aids / Notes: (Power Point. Posters. Etc) as it relates to dependence: Limited dependence on cue cards, notes, visual aids, power point, etc., taking age, experience, and level of difficulty into consideration. Limited memorization or reading. Grammar and Vocabulary: Presenter uses correct grammar and proper choice of words which make the meaning clear. Summary: Clear, concise review; reiterates main points of the presentation. It should not include new material nor be a complete repeat of the presentation.
