A Look at the Brewers
The Vassar College women’s lacrosse team notched its third straight win Friday at Bard College, 18-11, behind stellar performances by Phoebe Hankins and Emily Hamburger. Hankins was phenomenal, logging a game-high seven points with six assists and a goal. With the career-high in assists, she now has 11 on the season. Hamburger doubled her career-high with four goals in the contest, as 10 Brewers found the back of the net. The Brewers scored the first four goals of the contest before the Raptors scored their first with 16:50 remaining in the half. Vassar took a 9-4 lead into the break before outscoring Bard 9-7 in the second half. Vassar leads the conference with goals per game (14.43), assists (8.00) and therefore points (23.43). The next leading points leader is Clarkson with 19.56. On the defensive end, the Brewers are first in draw control per game (14.57), second in ground balls (20.00) and third in caused turnovers (11.00).

BREWER BIO on ... phoebe hankins
Hankins, a junior from Belvedere, CA, has had a breakout season for the Brewers so far. This year, Hankins has already surpassed her total points from the 2014 and 2015 seasons, mainly stemming from her feeds from behind the net. Her season- and career- high of six assists against Bard on April 1 helped her earn the number six spot on the Liberty League’s assists-per-game leaderboard. With 11 helps on the season, she is only behind Isabelle Goldstein, who currently leads the team with 16. Hankins also boasts an extremely accurate shooting percentage (75%), the highest of any
member on the team. In high school, Hankins lettered and started all four years in lacrosse. The versatile athlete also lettered three years in basketball and one in field hockey. Hankins is the daughter of Stephen and Laura Hankins and is the sister of Maggie, who played two seasons at Vassar.
