Growing in GRACE

Welcome to Highfield

Sunday 6 July 2014

Jesus said ‘Let the children come to me’ so it is always a joy when families bring their children to be baptized, a sign of setting them on life’s journey with Jesus. It is a journey we’re on together as Christians, so let’s encourage and support one another, particularly parents in their responsibility to bring their children up to know and follow Jesus Christ. For many this journey starts later in life, but God invites all to make a new start with him whatever the past may have been. How about you?

Baptism

Shine TODAY

Welcome to the families of Neve Marston & Claudia Cross who are being baptised at our 9.15am service today. Please pray for them and their parents and Godparents as they seek to bring them up in the Christian faith.

As this will be a Communion service please bring children straight to their groups. Children in Scramblers, Climbers and Explorers will be returned to the church (Scramblers font, Climbers - cafe area, Explorers south aisle). Parents with children in Crèche, Wobblers and Tumblers are asked to collect them from their group at 10.10am.

Crèche For children up to the age of 1 or walking, meets in the vestry during the 9.15am service. A place for cuddles, play and praying over the children; sometimes with parents present and often without. We want to create a safe space for babies so parents can enjoy their own safe space in church. Can you join our weekly rota? If you would love to play with/cuddle babies in crèche please talk to Sammy or to Sarah, [email protected]

Thank you Praise the Lord for Gift Day generosity! Money received, plus pledges and tax, amounts to £63,309 for the roof. Another £5,730 has been given for general funds. Thank you for your gifts! We are now able to press ahead with the roof repairs. A modest insurance claim and possible grant, would enable us to meet any contingencies. Thank you if you reviewed your regular giving! Changes are vital in growing regular income for our general funds. And it's not too late if you haven't got round to it yet. Together we thank God for this money, and pray that it will be spent wisely in God's service. If you’ve any questions about our finances and giving speak to our Finance team or contact the Church Office. Praise the Lord for providing the resources needed!
