Introduction Mahomet‐Seymour CUSD #3 is placing District‐owned property for sale. Located at 601 E. Main St, Mahomet, IL 61853, this 3.6 acre parcel at the desirable corner of Main Street and Route 47 offers a multitude of development opportunities. The location fronting Lombard Street also offers commercial development potential. Beginning on January 9, 2017, the District will begin accepting sealed bids as per Illinois School Code (105ILCS 5/5‐22). Sealed bids are due by January 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm at which time they will be opened publically. If bids do not meet the minimal reserve set by the Mahomet‐Seymour Board of Education, Mahomet‐Seymour CUSD #3 is not required to sell the property. At such time as the completion of the sealed bid opening, the top three submitted bidders will be included in an open bid format. The top bidder will be determined when no other competing bid is offered against the highest bidder. Closing will occur within 90 days of acceptance of the bid. The school district desires a “lease back” from the time of closing until the possession date. The purchaser will take possession of the property on October 1, 2018. The district will assume the customary maintenance on the building to current condition levels.

Mahomet residents are very proud of their schools as Mahomet‐Seymour CUSD #3 is an educational leader, regionally and statewide. The School District recently completed construction of a new Pre‐K and Kindergarten building in 2014 and has plans to build a new 1st and 2nd grade addition in 2017.
