Minot Public School District has finished its second year using McGraw-Hill My Math, adopting the curriculum in alignment with North Dakota’s implementation of the Common Core State Standards. K-12 District Math Curriculum Coordinator, Renae Rudolph who has spent 25 years in education, said the school is using McGraw-Hill My Math in kindergarten through 5th grade within the district. “We reviewed 4 series in depth for content coverage aligning with Common Core Standards and the Standards for Mathematical Practice. We utilized 4 different selection criteria documents/processes and McGraw-Hill My Math came in first with every criterion we used,” said Renae.

When asked about what features and attributes were liked best, Renae stated that “fractions progression, length of time spent on conceptual understanding of multiplying, the enhanced time spent with manipulatives, arrays, and different methods. In the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades teachers like how the fractions are laid out and the kids seem to be understanding fractions better.
