RULES In all divisions, extra points shall be scored: one point for running and two points for passing. .In all divisions, the time between the second and third quarter (half time) shall be ten minutes. Each quarter shall be ten minutes.

All games shall be played under Ohio High School Athletic Association rules unless otherwise superseded or specified by PYAA football rules. . All division teams will announce punts and have the ball moved forward 25 yards.

OVERTIME RULES The team that wins the toss or the team that elects to be on offense will start the ball on their own respective yard line as described under Ohio High School Athletic Association game rules. Each team will have an offensive possession starting on the opponent’s 10-yard line. If a score takes place from the 10-yard line, the opposing team receives an opportunity to answer the score. If the score is answered equal to the opposing team’s score including the extra point conversion the game ends in a tie. This applies to the regular season only. In the event of a tie, each team receives A point in the league standings. If the teams are tied after their series from the 10-yard line, each team will receive a possession from the opponent’s 5-yard line. This process is completed from the 5-yard line until a winner is determined. The Picktown Gridiron Classic board reserves the right to shorten halftime to 5 minutes if they feel games are running behind. This will be conveyed by the referees prior to halftime of the game (s) in question. Both head coaches will be notified if there is a reduction in the normal 10 minute halftime of that particular game.

DIVISION GAME RULES Mini Division To start each half, the team that wins the toss or the team that elects to be on offense will start with the ball on their own 35-yard line. No kick-offs. In the mini division, the snapper (center) may grip the ball and adjust the long axis parallel to the line of scrimmage. If the officials move the ball forward 20 yards they may not place the ball inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. Once the offensive team breaks the huddle neither the offensive or defensive coach can give verbal instructions or move a player. If a coach violates this rule a five-yard penalty and warning will be given. A second offense will result in a 15-yard personal foul and on the third offense the violating team is penalized 15 yards and the coach is ejected. Junior & Senior Division There will be no live kick-offs. The defensive team may rush a maximum of nine players. No defensive player can hit the center until he has reached an upright position.
