TOWARDS A MID-TERM ASSESSMENT AND REVISION OF COMMON GOALS CNA Meeting 18 May 2017, Budapest

Common Goals & Mutual Commitments The Common Goals & Mutual Commitments were adopted by the NA in October 2013 and the EURORDIS BoD in November 2013.

The purpose of the initiative is to promote greater convergence and collaboration between National Alliances themselves and between National Alliances and EURORDIS, based around a set of mutually agreed goals and commitments.

Common Goals & Mutual Commitments The Common Goals consist of: • A one-page binding document, the Common Goals & Mutual Commitments between National Alliances in Europe & EURORDIS to be signed by each National Alliance and EURORDIS respectively. • An Annex, the Implementation Plan of the Common Goals & Mutual Commitments, which presents further details and concrete actions for the implementation of the Common Goals. These are not binding suggestions. • An explanatory letter providing the purpose, background rationale and process of the initiative

Revision: one page document Following a consultation with the CNA in January 2017, the decision was made to abandon the initiative of the European Year for Rare Diseases 2019 • The EYRDs to be deleted from the one page Common Goals • Should this process be confirmed in writing to the Nas or can it be taken as a given?

Revision: Implementation plan Self-assessment form Based on the implementation plan a self assessment form is being developed to be sent to NAs:

• Results to be presented in October 2017 • Based on results suggestions will be made to revise the implementation plan: deletion of certain actions that are seen as not a priority
