MICRO-TEC 80W-120W SWITCH MODE ELECTRONIC BATTERY CHARGERS

12 V / 06 A, 12 V / 10 A 24 V / 05 A Specifically designed to match the demanding requierements of high performance batteries used for on-board applications : yachts, special vehicles camping cars, ...

BENEFITS OF SWITCH MODE TECHNOLOGY : - Small, lightweight chargers, - consistent charge quality, regardless of any disturbances in the power input ( generator or mains ).

- Management and control by microprocessor

- Frequency : 50 / 60 Hz - Working temperature : -10°C to +45°C - Storage temperature : -20°C to +70°C - Charging curve selection by external SWITCH for 2 different battery types : ( classical lead open and sealed lead / gel ) - CE conformity / in compliance with european requirements user safety NF EN 60335-1 and EN 60335- 2-29 Electromagnetic compatibiliy ( E.M.C. ) : EN 50081-1, EN 50082-1, EN 55022 class A

SAFETY : - Electronic protection against output short-circuits against battery polarity inversion

FRONTAL DISPLAY / CONNECTIONS :

MICRO-TEC FEATURES : - To prolong the life of your batteries and conserve their initial capacity, the charger is programmed with 4 three-state charging patterns : > BOOST/Fast charge : restore maximum battery capacity in a short space of time. > ABSORPTION/Balanced charge : complements charge at maximum, gradually reducing the charging power. > FLOATING/Top-up charge : compensates for constant battery drain, while keeping the battery fully charged. - The MICRO-TEC allows the battery to be connected and used constantly, while still offering a real BOOST ( high voltage ) charge over short period. The charger switches back to top-up mode automatically.

- Information on the status of charge by LED : RED : BOOST / ABSORPTION GREEN : FLOATING - Connections : Input by wire length 1.5 m. and plug or IEC inlet ( check on picture ) Outputs by wires 2.5 mm² length 2 m.

OPTIONS : - On request : specific set up of current value I < I max

INSTALLATION FITTING INSTALLATION The charger must be mounted vertically (to prevent water ingress, with the cables on the bottom ) or horizontally if in dry location. Maintain a free area of 15cm (6 ″) all around to allow air circulation for optimal cooling. Provide cool air input on the bottom and a hot air exhaust at the top. The charger will automatically regulate the output current to compensate for abnormal overheating. In case of critical overheating ( >60°C ), the charger will shut down. Disconnect the mains, wait approximately 10 minutes to allow the temperature to decrease, then reconnect the unit. CONNECTING THE BATTERIES: ( depend on the pattern – 1 or 2 outputs). Connect the red wire to the positive (+) post of the battery, and the black wire to the negative (-) post. Repeat the connection for battery n°2, in the case of a charger with 2 outputs. (The negative battery terminals must be connected together) Battery fuse : T e m p e re d g lass fuse

WARNING : This is a class-A appliance. In a residential environment, this appliance can cause some radioelectrical perturbations. In this case it could be recommanded to the user to take some appropriated steps. General form of the charging curve Current Voltage Safety timeout ~12 hours

10A WARNING: Ensure that the battery connections to the charger are tight (loose wires can cause arcing and can cause a fire if not properly tightened). CONNECTING THE MAINS ( depend on the pattern ) The charger operates on mains 230Vac – 50Hz/60Hz.

DISPLAY Charge status of the charger is signalled with the following LED sequence: Red "Charge" Led : This led is lit as long as the battery is not fully charged Green "100%" Led :. This led is lit when the battery is fully charged

CHARGING CURRENT : The nominal current shown in the case of nominal voltage is the mean current supplied by the charger. It may be used continuously. SAFETY DEVICES ELECTRONIC PROTECTION against: - output short-circuits - battery discharge in the event of mains failure PROTECTION BY FUSE against: - mains input overload. - battery polarity inversion (exterior fuse) ANTI-CORROSION: casing in aluminium with anti-corrosion paint. ANTI-IMPACT : resistance to impacts in normal use.
