8th January 2016 Happy New Year! Wishing you all a very Happy New Year as we welcome everyone back to the new school term after Christmas. We hope you are all refreshed after the break and ready to start another busy but fulfilling term at Pinfold School.
‘The Poet from the Peaks!’ On Wednesday local poet Andy Tooze,the ‘Poet from the Peaks’ came to school and held a poetry workshop for the children in years 1,2 and 3. The children listened intently as Andy recited a number of his own quirky, fun poems and then after hearing Andy’s top tips for poetry writing, they set about writing their own poems. The results were truly inspired and the children had fun reading their poems to each other. WOW! What a fantastic day!

After School Clubs After school clubs have re-started this week. Details are given below; all children have been informed of which club they are in. Details can also be found in your child’s class window Monday Basketball – Year 4 to 6 Tuesday Boys Football – Year 3 and 4 Boys Football – Year 5 and 6 Computer Club – Year 3 Wednesday Football – Year 1 and 2 Base Performance – Year 3 and 4 Card Making Club – Year 4 to 6 Thursday Girls Football – Year 3 to 6 Girls Cricket – Year 3 to 6 Friday Badminton/Table Tennis – Year 4 to 6 Please ensure that you collect your child from school at 4pm. Forest School With the cold winter months now upon us, can I remind all parents that children who attend Forest School lessons should be suitably dressed in warm clothes and appropriate footwear (wellingtons or boots), not school shoes. Please ask your child’s class teacher if you are unsure about when your child is due to take part in a Forest School lesson.
