The question What can the Guild do to encourage more volunteerism?

Responses 1. Provide ideas or identify recipients of volunteer efforts. 2. Give more incentive to volunteer 3. As various guild members visit other chapter's whether to bring samples of items or just to stop in... the average member becomes more aware of the Guild and its activities. TO many the Guild is an intangible entity......something they are not involved with or in contact 4. Perhaps instill in the members that "this is your guild and everyone needs to contribute, even in a small way, to make our group successful". 5. encourage encourage encourage 6. Offer food: They will come? 7. I have found that people will only volunteer if you personally approach them. 8. Issues with guild and program management discourage volunteers. be clear about guidance, support volunteers and recognize people when they do volunteer. what about earning points for volunteer hours? 9. start a "help wanted" list on the website 10. recognize those that are volunteering 11. require volunteer hours for member in good standing status 12. guild sponsor a "volunteer fair"- like a job fair- match up those needing help with those who might want to do something 13. Showcase one Chapter monthly. I think everyone is inspired by other quilter's accomplishments. 14. Recognize a position (person) or group of individuals that have or are volunteering. What are the responsibilities and what has the volunteer or group of volunteers accomplished?
