A Message From

The President

It hasn’t felt much like it, but spring is here! Spring is a season of renewal and new beginnings—including the start of a new chapter “year” for CoreNet Global New England. I am honored and thrilled to be serving as President and excited for everything we will accomplish together. Before looking to the future, I would like to again recognize and thank a couple of very special people. Cynthia Keliher, our remarkable Past President, has led our Chapter through amazing growth and achievement over the last three years. To ensure and sustain the Chapter’s continued success, she has worked tirelessly to develop and nurture our program offerings, maintain a strong relationship with Global, and recognize and support our membership such that the Chapter is always innovating and improving the value proposition to our membership. We are the real estate organization of choice in Boston as a result of her direct commitment to doing all the right things that make CoreNet Global New England the highly valued and vibrant professional organization it is today. It is one that other CoreNet Chapters seek to emulate. I offer my sincerest thanks to Carol Adey, who not only helped build this Chapter, she was its heart and soul. I thank Carol for her tireless energy, guidance, persistence and grace through her many years of service as our Chapter’s Executive Director, and through it all, she nurtured and took many under her wing, with many smiles and laughs along the way. We wish Carol the very, very best in her retirement, and always. Many of you joined me in wishing Carol and Cynthia well at the Annual Meeting on March 29—complete with a surprise appearance by Wally the Green Monster! This year’s Annual Meeting was an outstanding evening of celebrating our successes and reviewing our initiatives and goals. During the “business” portion of the event, we celebrated our Leadership 2.0 graduates, recognized this year’s Executive Committee and Board members, reviewed our membership survey findings, and revisited our strategic initiatives. We also used the meeting to host a “Committee Fair”—a tradeshow-style event in which members could visit committee tables to learn more about how they can get involved. You can also find more about each committee—and the highlights of the Chapter year—in the 2017-2018 Annual Report

With a depth of gratitude, I’d like to thank all of those who contributed their collective efforts in making this event such a success. The night served as a fitting celebratory conclusion to an amazing year, and an inspiring kick-off for what’s to come! It is both a privilege and honor to serve as your next President and, with the continued support of you all, our Executive Director, Trish Fields, and our Chapter Administrator, Debbie Crooks, I will do my very best to continue to build on the highly successful organization that is CoreNet Global New England. Thank you and Happy Spring!

Annual Meeting On March 29 at John Hancock in Boston’s Seaport, over 125 of our Chapter members convened to take stock of our accomplishments in the previous year, as well as look ahead to what’s in store for 2018-2019. If you weren’t able to be there in person, know these two things are true: Wally the Green Monster is a fan of CoreNet, and our Chapter has a lot of exciting and interesting committees waiting for you to step forward and join!
