Goodbye FUMC What a wonderful plan God is putting in place for FUMC. You are getting the continuity of Rev. Debby and her great team of folks. Dr. Hildreth and Rev. Norton are going to bring many gifts to share and strong leadership. I want to thank you for a challenging, growing, incredible decade among you. As I think of worshipping and studying, baptizing your babies; hearing your stories; laughing and crying together it is with a wealth of memories that I move. It is perfectly normal for you to have mixed feelings about a pastoral change. It is ok to miss your leaving pastor and also to be glad to greet the new pastors. I always laugh but say, "Pastors make every one happy--some when they are coming, some while they are here, and some when they go!" So, I've finally made everyone happy. As United Methodist pastors move, we are then no longer your pastor in any form. That sounds odd but what it means is that the current pastor doesn't come back for any pastoral events--no funerals, no weddings etc. Not even as a guest. If you are wondering why, it is because Dr. Hildreth, Rev. Bartley, and Rev. Norton are now your pastors. This includes connections through social media, messaging, texting etc. There are many wonderful things ahead for all of us. So let us trust God and trust ourselves to God's love and guidance. Rev. Robin Roderick

The class will provide solid, actionable steps that you use to build an intentional process to move casual attendees to active disciples of Jesus Christ. The 2015 School of Lay Ministry will be held at Manchester UMC on July 24-26, 2015. Full details and registration information can be found on the Lay Servant page of the district website,www.gatewaydistricts.org/ LayServantMinistries. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL JUNE 29 - JULY 2

Once again United Methodist Women are excited to provide Snack Sacks for the children of this church and neighborhood. With an enrollment of perhaps 150 children, we will need a lot of snack items to fill the sacks each day. Please consider contributing warehouse size packages of the following items: Peanut Butter crackers, cheese crackers, pudding cups - vanilla, chocolate, or swirl, individually bagged chips, pretzels & goldfish crackers, granola bars, individually wrapped Rice Krispy treats, and applesauce cups. Items should be marked VBS-UMW and left in the Atrium. Thanks for supporting this mission.

Staying Connected Our deepest sympathies are extended to the families of those who have recently passed away: Schroeder Family, at the death of Rev. Victor Schroeder on May 16, 2015, former pastor of First United Methodist Church. Chris Cakes pancakes is coming back! They will be serving a breakfast of pancakes and sausage on the morning of May 31. Breakfast will be served from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Asbury and the multi-purpose room. The meal is free, however, we will collect donations to help pay for the cost of the catering. The suggested donation amount is $5 per person. May 31 is the Fifth Sunday of the month. On Fifth Sundays, the morning schedule is slightly different than the usual morning schedule. Fifth Sundays are family worship days, on which parents are encouraged to take their children to worship with them so that the children will learn to experience worship, worship will be multigenerational and the entire family can worship together. Faith

journey Sunday school classes are cancelled on Fifth Sundays.
