A SUMMER TO REMEMBER It’s time for relaxation and a break from school work, so do you want to make this summer a memorable one for your kid? We are organising an exciting range of events for children to have a great time and also to provide certain learning opportunities while they are having fun. The events are innovative, enriching and will be an unforgettable experience which will create lasting memories. We also have a parent-child workshop. Please find details about the workshops below and register your child for the sessions.

Workshop: Big Draw for you again – Parent Child Activity

Date: Saturday 15 April 2017 Timings: 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Open to 5 -14 years old When we draw, we take an opportunity to slow down, and to appreciate how the visual world works. A drawing can communicate an idea more effectively than words. The Big Draw is for anyone who loves to draw, as well as those who think they can't! Outline: This is a fun parent-child activity which allows you and your child to wander your imagination and get involved with creative work. Parents should encourage conversation during the workshop, children sharing ideas about what they are seeing. Outcome  To encourage everyone to draw, whether you love to draw or thing you can't  To increase the profile of drawing as a tool for thought, creativity, social and cultural engagement  To explore different ways of telling/making stories  To help participants see the value of drawing to see, think, invent and tell stories

Workshop: Creative writing – We can be heroes

Date: Tuesday 25 April 2017 Timings: 9 -10 years old: 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. 11 -12 years old: 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 13 -15 years old: 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. Creative writing is a great way for children to express themselves and it plays an important role in a child's literacy development. Creative writing not only allows kids to express their feelings, it helps them clarify their own ideas and beliefs, and discover what they know or think about a topic. Outline There are several creative activities which includes creative thinking, speaking and group discussion as well. Outcome   

It will help to develop reading, writing and language skills! While writing, children are exploring words and grammar It is fun for children and learn to think ‘outside of the box’. It will encourage children to use their imaginations and broadens their thought process and helps them to see the world from a unique perspective.

Workshop: Paint your Favourite Character

Date: Friday 28 April 2017 Timings: 5 to 8 years old: 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. 9 -12 years old: 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 13-15 years old: 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. . Art is a life skill – it opens a thousand doors in the children’s mind to be creative. It's amazing what even the littlest ones can achieve when they do something that feels like pure fun. And one look at these cheerful, kid-friendly activities will have youngsters begging for a brush and paper. Outline: Session will start with a discussion about their favourite characters followed by quick demonstration by trainer on painting. Participants will experiment with different colours and learn to draw their favourite characters using simple shapes, drawing different eyes, noses and mouths to create endless expressions, and create stories from start to finish, even if they have not drawn before! Outcome:   

Participants will learn to think creatively, with an open mind and imagining, by exploring various ways of seeing, both perceptually and conceptually They will learn observe and describe, analyse and interpret Most importantly participants will have fun during the session

Workshop: Craft and model Making

Date: Saturday 6 May 2016 Timings: 5 to 8 years old: 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. 9 -12 years old: 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 13-15 years old: 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. Art has the role in education of helping children become themselves instead of more like everyone else. It is an activity that can employ all the senses—sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste—depending on the activity. Outline: Session with teamwork, class cohesion to come up with the end result. Children will be given a lot of activities where they can showcase their creativity through art. Outcome: 

Children will have hands-on session to make interesting crafts



Developing perceptual abilities. Awareness of colours, shapes, forms, lines, and textures result as children observe these and try to replicate them through art. Children will learn to collaborate with other children. They will learn to think creatively, with an open mind

 

Workshop: Theatre – Much Ado About Nothing

Date: Saturday 13 May 2017 Timings: 8 to 9 years old: 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. 10 -11 years old: 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 12-15 years old: 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Theatre teaches us how to express ourselves more effectively. It develops our ability to communicate our thoughts and feelings to others, improving our relationships and improving the world around us. This fun filled workshop will allow those who are /are not familiar with the work of Shakespeare. All children will experience and explore Shakespeare. Outline    

Theatre allows students to practice their emotional range while experimenting with pitch, projection, pace, and dramatics. T They will be able to hone their acting skills. They will learn to think creatively and develop their imagination skills It will build their confidence and speaking skills.

Outcome: Session will start with a brief introduction about the William Shakespeare and his work. It will include an individual and a team work. Facilitator will guide them on the script, acting skills, language etc. Children will be given scene where they have to be creative and develop an ending using the ideas given by the trainer.
