2015 AYSO Tournament Rules
Points to be awarded as follows (10 points maximum/game) : ➢ 6 points for a win ➢ 3 points for a tie ➢ 1 point for each goal scored (max. 3 per game) ➢ 1 point for winning a shutout
Semifinalists to be determined by: ➢ Total points ➢ Head to head (tournament play) ➢ Least goals allowed ➢ Most goals scored
Tie Breaker If there is still a tie after tiebreakers are analyzed, there will be a special shootout scheduled 20 minutes prior to the first scheduled semifinal game on Sunday. The goalkeeper in the last quarter is the first keeper in the shootout. Fivegoal international shootout rules apply in all Sunday games. If there remains a tie after all tiebreakers between teams that qualify for the semifinals, seeding will be determined by a coin toss.
Delay of Game Penalties It is important that all games start and finish on time! Scheduling is extremely tight. Have the players at the field on time and ready to play. After the completion of each game, the field and sidelines must be cleaned up and cleared out immediately. Please locate your postgame talk/snacks away from the bench area.
For delays in starting games the following penalties will be imposed on the offending team: 5minute delay…1 goal 10minute delay…2 goals 15minute delay…3 goals and forfeiture of game Team that wins by forfeit will receive 8 points (6=win, 1=shutout, 1=goal)
Coach Notes 1. The referee is the law – Arguing is prohibited (Red Card). 2. All referee decisions are final – No Protests. 3. Both team coaches must remain in designated coaches’ box – no other “assistants” allowed on coaches’ side of field. 4. All fans, family members, and visitors must sit on the sideline opposite the teams’ benches. 5. Coaches are responsible for their team parents’ conduct—failure to control your crowd could result in forfeiture. 6. All players must play one half of each shortened game. 7. Both teams’ coaches must go to scorer’s table (tent) to sign game card, confirm score & provide goalscorer’s names after each game.
8. Goalkeepers must be changed at halftime. 9. Two yellow cards or a red card results in a suspension for next game. 10. Immediately following your second game on Saturday, please usher your team to the scorer’s table, where we will provide you with your player awards and pictures. 11. Turn in your completed Player Evaluation Form at the AYSO tent before your first game on Saturday . 12. Please return your equipment and ball bags to the AYSO tent after your last game on either Saturday or Sunday. 13. Make sure players and parents stop by the AYSO tent for free beverages, snacks and to check the game scores and division points standings.
