DEPARTMENT: Maintenance REPORTS TO: Director, Maintenance and Construction; Supervisor, Maintenance and Construction; Foreman – Access Control / Locks & Doors; Maintenance and Construction.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Applicant must document a minimum of three (3) years experience (combined) in both the areas of Access Control and/or Locks and Doors. Applicant must also be currently licensed and in good standing as a Locksmith Technician through the Oklahoma Department of Labor or secure license within the first two (2) years of employment in this position. LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The employee will be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned. The employee will be required to work in close relation to his/her peers and all other Mid-Del employees. SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Employee's primary function shall be but not limited to functioning as a working Locks and Doors/Access Control Leadman, and to provide assistance in coordinating the efforts of both departments by communication and planning with fellow Leadman, Foreman, Chief-Lead Journeymen, Journeymen, and Apprentices 2. Employee must be reliable, dependable, and require minimum supervision. 3. Neatness in appearance, courteous, and tactful in dealing with other employees or the general public.
4. Must be very professional and maintain confidential information of sensitive nature. 5. Must currently possess and maintain a current Oklahoma Operators License for motor vehicles. Employee must also have a clean driving record. 6. Must be proficient in the application of the International and BOCA Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable state and local codes as they apply to the areas of Locks & Doors and Access Control. 7. Regularly must work in confined spaces above, below, and at ground level. 8. Regularly must work in aerial bucket ladder or cat walk at a height not to exceed 110'. 9. On occasion, employee may be required to assist in building, repairing, and installing counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim. 10. Regularly must set up and operate woodworking machines to include but not be limited to power saws, jointers, radial arm saws, drill presses, and saws. 11. Occasionally may be required to assist in the installation of glass in windows, doors, and partitions. 12. Occasionally may be required to assist in the replacement of damaged ceiling tiles, floor tiles, and wall covering. 13. Must communicate and consult with faculty and staffs to explain methods and procedures related to keying databases and locksmith operations. 14. Must consult with administrators, contractors, architects, project managers, and engineers on new construction and remodel projects.
15. Generate, and maintain multiple computerize databases to minimize duplication of master key systems through tracking and cataloging of keys, maintain records and security files. 16. Provide manual or computer programming of electronic locks for large areas of assembly and other high security areas in the District to provide controlled access; export computerized records to handheld devices to upload information to lock on occasion. 17. Maintain spreadsheets for sites, which reflect a record of access availability to all areas of the sites. 18. Shall be required to train administrators, faculty, and staff of policies, procedures, management, and the use of Site Master 200, Key Systems S.A.M., and DNA Fusion. 19. Maintain an annual written log of all fire doors in the District in order to comply with NFPA 101 Life Safety and Fire Codes, and to assure compliance with all State and Local jurisdictions having authority. 20. Must be skilled in the maintenance and troubleshooting of access control scheduling, hardware, and network. 21. Must be skilled in the development of policy and procedures for Schlage Everest T restricted keying system for the District. 22. Will on occasion be required to work overtime hours as determined by the Director of Maintenance or Supervisor of Maintenance. 23. Must exhibit good communications skills towards Principals, Teachers, Food Service Personnel, Custodians, and Students. 24. Must perform as part of an overall maintenance team working for the timely completion of all assigned tasks, and at times working in different departments. 25. Should be skilled in proper time management. Should develop a working knowledge of vendors, purchase orders, work orders, and call-in work requests.
26. Diagnoses, repairs, and schedules controls of access control systems. Employee must work in close relationship with site principles, and Mid-Del Schools Energy Manager in programming of buildings with alternate schedules to allow for building usage for special/unscheduled functions. 27. Must be skilled in blueprint and representative drawings interpretation of buildings and/or equipment. 28. Must have the ability to operate various software programs to, include but not be limited to word processors, spread sheets, and various Energy Management Systems via phone communications with software and graphic configurations. 29. Shall on occasion, work in close relationship with Director, Maintenance and Construction, Supervisor, Maintenance and Construction, and Foreman – Access Control / Locks & Doors in the budgeting, maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment. On occasion may be required to assist Director; Maintenance and Construction, Supervisor; Maintenance and Construction, and Foreman – Access Control / Locks & Doors with coordinated planning, designing, and installation of new construction and/or remodel projects. 31. Must become knowledgeable in the Mid - Del Schools Confined Spaces Program and coordinate the proper application of it in the entire Access Control and Locks & Doors sections. 32. Must become knowledgeable in the Mid - Del Schools Lockout/Tagout Program and coordinate the proper application of it. 33. Employee shall be responsible for the issuance of Key Codes for all new and used construction projects. Employee shall also be responsible for keeping all sites informed of changes in key code policies and shall be responsible for them understanding objectives of new key coding systems. 34. Employee shall maintain the integrity of all keying systems and their intent as instructed by the Director; Maintenance & Construction, the Supervisor; Maintenance & Construction, and the Foreman – Access Control / Locks & Doors. The employee shall also be able to provide
Director/Supervisor/Foreman pertinent information on the status of the District keying system. 35. Shall be proficient in the installation, repair, rebuilding, and service/maintenance of mechanical and/or electric locking devices. 36. Shall be proficient in disassembling locks to include but not be limited to padlocks, safe locks, and door locks and repair or replacement of worn tumblers, springs, and other parts as necessary. 37. Occasionally may be required to move lock pick cylinder to open door locks without keys and opening of safes by drilling. 38. Employee shall have a general knowledge of all purchases made from all vendor accounts assigned to the Locks/Doors and Access Control sections. 39. Employee shall regularly be required to secure price quotes on projects being considered. Employee shall be required to assemble these quotes in a format that can be understood by administrators. 40. The employee will also be required to review detailed inventory accounts from all Locks/Doors and Access Control personnel prior to their being submitted yearly. 41. Employee must be available for unscheduled, emergency call. 42. Employee must provide a reasonable method of communication during unscheduled, emergency situations with Director, Supervisor, and Foreman of Maintenance and Construction and other authorized Mid-Del staff members. 43. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Director or Maintenance Supervisor.
