Action Challenge Day letter
May 2017 Dear Parent/Guardian Year 7 Action Challenge Day We are delighted to offer every student in Year 7 the opportunity to participate in an “Action Challenge Day” on Friday 22nd September 2017. Activities will include aeroball, a climbing wall, construction challenge, fencing and archery with the objective of developing team building skills and providing an opportunity for the whole year group to work as a unit. Each activity will be led by a professional instructor accompanied by a member of school staff. The whole day will be heavily subsidised and we are therefore only requesting a minimal voluntary contribution of £8 from each pupil. Please complete and return the attached consent form and the reply slip below, and send to the School Office, together with your contribution (cheques made payable to Hitchin Boys’ School) in an envelope marked with your son’s name and ‘Action Day’; please note we are unable to issue change for cash payments. We would be grateful if you could return the form and payment by Monday 5th June 2017. If you require financial assistance please write to the Head Teacher in confidence. In view of the activities, boys should not wear their school uniform. We recommend that the boys wear appropriate sports/comfortable clothing (no jeans) and trainers. They should also bring a waterproof jacket and indoor PE kit including indoor footwear for sports hall activities. We look forward to providing a memorable day for the boys in their first weeks at Hitchin Boys’ School.
