WHY CRYSTAL
FIRST ?
At CSUS, we strive to enroll highly motivated students from a wide variety of backgrounds in order to prepare our graduates for an increasingly diverse and connected world. In keeping with our commitment to building a diverse and inclusive community, CSUS is partnering with local educational access programs to identify students from traditionally under-resourced backgrounds who share our values of “Community, Scholarship, Unbounded Spirit.” To this end, we created Crystal FIRST, a unique program designed to prepare students and their families for the academic and cultural expectations of independent schools as well as their transition to college Crystal FIRST demonstrates the school’s deep commitment to its students and their unique needs. It is funded through generous grants from the Edward E. Ford Foundation and from private donors.
