January 20, 2017

Greetings from the F. G Miller Loyal Order of the P.U.P and F.G. Miller Kindness Committee It has come that time of year again and we are excited to be planning our 3rd RAK Week and PINK day! February 20 to 24 is RAK Week-National PINK day is February 22 R.A.K is the acronym for Random Acts of Kindness. Our plan is to hold it again in conjunction with PINK day. We are planning a week of activities and challenges for students and staff of FGM but also sending out an invitation to our community to get involved and share their own RAK and start a ripple of their own. This year our theme is “KINDNESS IS CONTAGIOUS – CATCH THE KINDNESS” National PINK shirt day is February 22 we are encouraging everyone to get creative. Create your own PINK shirt! Add your own logo! Get your creative juices flowing and on a PINK shirt add your positive statement! Markers or paint work great! We would love to see what you come up with by emailing your photos to [email protected] at the school and show our students that we are all working together to promote kindness! Let’s inspire each other! Please help us turn Elk Point PINK for the third year. If you would like to become a member of our Kindness Committee, please contact; Sherry at F.G. Miller; Phone 780 724 3966 or email [email protected]

Our kindest regards, The Loyal Order of the P.U.P. and F.G Miller Kindness Committee

January 20, 2017 His Worship Mayor Tung, 4914 50 Ave, Elk Point, AB Dear Mr. Mayor Tung February 22, 2017 is National anti-bullying day also known as “PINK” day. We are very excited to share our Anti-Bullying initiative for 2017 and are in the process of planning an exciting week surrounding it! This year the theme is “Kindness is Contagious-Catch Kindness” We have decided to focus on Kindness with RAK week (Random Acts of Kindness) February 20 to 24, 2017. The goal of the F.G. Miller P.U.P and the F.G. Miller Kindness Committee is to empower our students to continue to become positive and caring citizens, impacting the world one kind act at a time. We would like our community to get on board with us and join us for this very positive initiative. "The power of kindness" studies show that when you help others it is tremendously healthy for you. It also affects those around you! It has been noted that people who witness random acts of kindness are influenced as well. We experience that first hand at our school. Our request is that the Town of Elk Point Council proclaim; February 20 to 24, 2017 - Kindness Week and February 22 - PINK day in Elk Point by encouraging citizens to wear PINK to promote anti-bullying awareness

Sincerely, F.G. Miller Loyal order of the P.U.P and F.G. Miller Kindness Committee
