As a supporter of the Varsity Athletic programs at Durham College, you can be part of the team that will help ensure the future success of our student-athletes and athletic programs. Here is how you can help and be a part of the team! Though $250 is the minimum contribution for the Adopt-a-Lord program, donations in any amount are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
The Adopt-A-Lord program is an initiative designed to provide financial assistance to all Durham College student-athletes. When you adopt a Lord, your contribution provides support in ways that directly enhance the experience of being a student-athlete at Durham College. It provides an avenue for alumni, community, family and friends who want to be involved in the lives of our student-athletes.
Please spread the word about the Adopt-a-Lord program and encourage friends and community members to become involved with the Durham College athletic tradition.
WHY SHOULD I ADOPT AN ATHLETE Student-athletes make numerous sacrifices over the course of a season in order to compete at the level necessary for intercollegiate athletics. They also are tremendously dedicated to their academics in order to remain eligible for competition. As a result, most studentathletes suffer the financial strain, not being able to carry a part time job during the season.

Did you know? On average athletes spend 60 hours per week committed to school and sport:
Training • 6 Hours Playing • 6 Hours In Class • 20 Hours
Practicing • 7 Hours Travelling • 6 Hours Homework • 15 Hours
Adopting an athlete is a great way to show support for the growth of our community as well as supporting our future leaders in the community.
