AdvanStik Insulation Adhesive Overview: AdvanStik Insulation Adhesive is a high performance, solvent free, two-component, construction-grade, low-rise polyurethane adhesive designed for the attachment of rigid insulation to various roof substrates. Strong: AdvanStik Insulation Adhesive provides exceptional wind uplift protection when bonding approved insulation boards to an approved substrate. All Temperature: Specially formulated for use in temperatures as low as 0° F., when properly stored. Quick Setting: At temperatures above freezing, properly stored AdvanStik Insulation Adhesive will lock insulation boards into place, ready for foot traffic, within 6-8 minutes of application. At temperatures below freezing, properly stored AdvanStik Insulation Adhesive will lock insulation boards into place, ready for foot traffic, within 8-12 minutes of application. Surface Preparation: All surfaces must be clean, sound and dry. Free of dust, dirt, debris, loose coating and any other condition that may prevent adhesion to the substrate. Conduct an adhesion test to all substrates prior to use. Contact Advantec Building Products for information regarding primers and surface treatments when adhering to fresh asphalt or substrates not listed above. Storage: Store AdvanStik Insulation Adhesive in original containers, in a dry area, protected from direct sunlight, at room temperatures 60° – 90° F. Extended storage at temperatures above 90° F may reduce shelf life. When applying AdvanStik Insulation Adhesive through a pump system, ensure internal material temperature is between 70° – 90° F, to avoid a poor mix. Material dispensed with the InvertaPress 3000 dispensing system will achieve a perfect mix in all temperatures. No special precautions required. Application: 1. Apply AdvanStik Insulation Adhesive in beads, minimum ½” wide, spaced 4”, 6” or 12” inches apart in accordance to roof system manufacturers requirements. 2. Allow adhesive to rise, set insulation boards into wet adhesive. If the adhesive has skinned, remove skinned material and apply fresh adhesive. 3. Takes steps to ensure insulation boards are in full contact with the substrate. Eliminate uneven surfaces. 4. Once the adhesive has set, the surface is ready for foot traffic and roof cover installation.
