COLLEGE PROGRESS REPORT

DAILY SCHEDULE

Primary reason for failures in college classes is poor attendance  Supports are in place to help students pass including a campus monitor to randomly check college classes  Mandatory study halls for students earning a grade of C- or lower in any class  Mandatory study halls for students with attendance/tardy issues 

 Colleges

are becoming more selective and students with a lower GPA are not being admitted  Admission after being dismissed for poor college performance is requiring an Associate’s Degree  Financial aid requires students have a 2.0 or better GPA to continue receiving assistance

IN AECHS CLASSES

• Not always closely monitored by college instructors -

students are expected to attend regularly  Number of allowed absences is not permission to miss class  Assignments are due on assigned date regardless of attendance  Campus monitor, professors and others inform us of attendance issues

• Senior seminar is only AECHS class (Tuesday)

4 English  4 Math (Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry and 1 other higher math)  3 Science (Physical Science, Biology & 1 other)  3 Social Studies (World, U.S., Gov’t/Econ)  .5 Health  .5 Physical Education (2 classes worth .25 each)  6 electives  Fine Art-can be satisfied in grades 7-12  21 Total Credits  Pass all 5 parts of the OGT 

to see syllabi & make note of key dates  Check Springboard occasionally  Encourage your student to push through difficult times by using tutoring, study groups, etc.  Help student learn to balance additional responsibilities such as work, sports, chores, etc.
