African Languages Initiative Fall 2013 Program HOW TO REQUEST TRANSCRIPTS Credit for work completed in the AFLI language courses is issued through Bryn Mawr College. Students taking direct enrollment courses for credit will have to make arrangements for credit recognition directly with their home institution at the beginning of the program. At the end of each semester, the Resident Director submits a list of grades to the American Councils Washington office. These grades are converted from the overseas host institution’s 5point scale to the Bryn Mawr College 4.0 scale. Grade/course conversion happens according to the course conversion equivalency chart as described in your Participant Handbook. All grades in their overseas host institution and Bryn Mawr forms are reviewed by the AFLI Program staff for accuracy. The grades your teachers write down or announce to you in class may not be the final grades that will appear on your transcript. The Resident Director is authorized to recommend that the Washington office adjust grades based on student attendance, effort, and behavior. American Councils forwards grades to the Bryn Mawr College Registrar, along with the Transcript Request Forms.
