GROUP DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1) Read Titus 1:4; 2 Corinthians 8. Who was Titus? 2) Read Titus 1:5,10-16; 3:9-11. What did Titus need to straighten out that wasn’t finished at Crete? What were the problems he faced? 3) Seth said, “Everything rises and falls on leadership.” Why is having godly leadership so important for families and for churches? 4) Read Titus 1:1-4. How did Paul describe himself, and what was his purpose in ministry? 5) Read 1 Timothy 3:1-8; Titus 1:6-9. God is interested in who you are and then what you do. What you do will flow from who you are. When it comes to church leadership, why is character so important? 6) Read 1 Timothy 3:8-13. What is the difference between an Elder and a Deacon? Why are both offices important to have in the church? 7) Read Titus 1:9. What are the two things Elders need to do with instructing others in the Word of God? FOR YOUR FAMILY 1) Memorize Matthew 23:11: “The greatest among you will be your servant.” 2) Read Titus 1:6-9 with your children. Talk with them about each characteristic of an Elder and encourage them to begin exhibiting these characteristics. 3) Reflect on 1 Timothy 3:4-5; Titus 1:6. Josh McDowell says, “Rules without relationship leads to rebellion.” Spend some time this week with your spouse and
with your kids, focusing on strengthening your relationships.
