COOPERATIVE INNOVATION In pursuit of new paint and coating technologies, AkzoNobel has been working cooperatively with the Invention Development Fund at Intellectual Ventures (IV). Through a joint collaboration agreement, the companies will work with the IV network of more than 4,000 inventors to discover and develop potential new products. The partnership also provides AkzoNobel access to existing technologies in the IV portfolio of chemistry and materials science inventions.
COMMERCIAL POTENTIAL The benefits of this agreement for AkzoNobel include the option to expand upon discoveries generated through this project, allowing for future product development and commercialization opportunities. The working relationship with Intellectual Ventures provides AkzoNobel the potential for new coating technologies that will improve its competitive position in the global marketplace.
