Scavenger Hunt Directions This scavenger hunt helps students share information about themselves.
1. Print the task cards on cardstock. Laminate if desired. 2. Make copies of the Student Response Form (one for each student). 3. Hide the task cards around the classroom.
4. Students must search around the classroom to find the cards. The cards stay in their hidden spot. Students write the answers on their student response form. Students may work alone or with a partner. Students continue searching around the room until all the cards are answered.

More Game Ideas 1. 2.
Independent Center Work Meet and Greet – Choose a different card each day. Student must answer the question before entering the classroom.

Whole Group Game (SCATTER) – Give each student a question card. Students must scatter (mingle) around the room, find a partner, then share his/her answer to the card.
Exchange cards and scatter again and
again. 4.
Use cards with basic board games or other games. Student may move game piece when a question is answered. (Battleship, Chutes & Ladders, Don’t Break the Ice, etc.)

Interactive Bulletin Board – Hang question cards on bulletin board. Students record answers on their student response form during designated transition times. When the response forms are completed, add them to the bulletin board for their classmates to read.
6.
Use cards for a game of Jeopardy or similar quiz show game.
7.
Tic Tac Toe – When a task card is answered, the student may place an “X” or “O”. Tape a tic-tac-toe board
on the floor. Students toss bean bags when a question is answered. Trade partners and get to know someone else! 8.
Display 1-2 cards per day for a fun transition activity.
9.
Hang task cards along a wall or set one on each desk. Students record answers moving to the next card when a designated sound or motion cues the movement. (SCOOT)
10.
May be used as a reward or brain break! Students may be given fewer cards to complete or complete only the odds or evens. Task cards replace worksheets!

More Game Ideas, Cont.11. Send task cards home for a purposeful homework activity. Parent may learn a few things about their children as well! 12. Task cards may be used to break the ice when welcoming guests to the classroom. Pass the cards out, and
invite students to share. Guests may share as well! 13. Play ANSWERS UP game. Designated student reads a question card. Students record answers on small chalk board or white board. Students show answers when designated student says, “Answers up!” 14. Transition or Morning Activity (Bell Work) – Display one task card each day for students to record answers. 15. Place task cards in plastic eggs or small boxes. Students find boxes and record answers.
16. Use task cards as flashcards with partners or small groups. 17. Use as extra reinforcement for students who complete work early. 18. Create a scavenger hunt. Hide the question cards around the room. Students find and answer the cards. 19. Have students create their own task card questions for their classmate or for all of the teachers in the school! 20. Be creative! Allow your students to create game ideas!
