Duncan chose to attend East 15 Acting School after graduating from BSP, saying that he was certain that a more traditional university

train and

experience wasn't for him. East 15 was a fantastic place to offered Duncan his first experience of

storytelling, through course

modules and a placement where he was able to shadow the work of a

professional storyteller. In September following his second year at drama school Duncan had his first professional performance as a storyteller back at his alma mater, the British School of Paris. His second performance was a few months later at another international school in France. Whilst at East 15 he also met the fellow founders of

his theatre company Backpack Theatre, a aiming to tour

high-quality original pieces of theatre that integrate

music, movement and puppetry. Since graduating from drama school a year ago, Duncan has visited schools, libraries and family festivals as a storyteller. He has already worked with many international schools and COBIS Members in The Netherlands, France, Oman and Qatar. He has also maintained a variety of odd jobs alongside his acting and storytelling in order to keep consistent money coming in.

Duncan has many fond memories of his time at BSP. He met his

friends for life at school, many of whom he still meets up with often. He was heavily involved in many of the school's sports teams, remembering how they used to travel to other British schools to

compete and highlighting 'a particularly fierce rivalry with the British School of Brussels!' He was also a member of the Senior and Junior Drama Clubs, being assistant director of the Junior Drama Club, and Model United Nations.

Duncan's advice to current students is to fun, be

work hard, take risks, have

spontaneous and go for it! He would encourage students at

the British School of Paris and across the COBIS network to pursue their interests and give life everything they've got!

Over the next year Duncan hopes to continue producing

successful

shows with Backpack Theatre, and to see the company broaden its horizons moving into different

theatrical and educational work. He acting work and

also hopes to continue with his own individual

storytelling. He would like to travel everywhere, and as his storytelling has already taken him to the Middle East and Europe, he is hoping he will be able to combine his love of

travel with his storytelling. Backpack
