Summer Updates We had a few Tar Heels playing this summer in unique opportunities. Sydney Matzko pitched for the legendary Statford Brakettes in Connecticut. Taylor Wike & Kendra Lynch set off to the west coast to play with River City in the Canadian Cup. Kendra Lynch displayed her long ball power hitting homeruns against Japan, Mexico and Spain. Kristen Brown took the field with New Jersey Rock’s college All-Stars took on Team USA. “KB” turned heads with her homerun off former Alabama Jackie Traina, pitching for Team USA.

Eight years after her UNC softball career ended, Whitney Gelin is competing for a national championship in a difALUMNI WEEKEND ferent sport. A 2007 Carolina graduate with a double major in psychology and exercise and sport science, Mark your calendars to join us Gelin is one of 40 women from around the world who September 18-20th for qualified to compete in the women’s open category at the Monogram Picnic, Football game vs. Illinois, and Alumni 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games in Carson, Calif.
